Even if we feel we have a grasp on the inner causes of a condition we

should not post diagnosis and opinions of emotional cause on this

list. I find lists of causes for illness (such as Louise Hays lists )

to be oversimplified and often incorrect. Sometimes these lists are

misused to invoke guilt. There are a multitude of reasons that illness

and imbalance can manifest. While some of the lists may have correct

information for some people, I personally think that in many cases they

do not. When these descriptions of alleged cause promote guilt,

discomfort and distress they do harm. This does not contribute to

healing.

I echo your feelings on the subject. I think these lists were, many

years ago, a good first step in recognizing the emotional, mental and

spiritual components of dis-ease. Like any first step they are

simplest and often lacking a clear view of the road ahead.

I find the Louise Hay type lists to be, at best, a very basic first

step. Most often I find that they are simplified beyond the point of

being useful. We are complex creatures and every person doesn't

experience the same condition for the same reasons. If you find ten

people with digestive issues you're likely, if you enter into true

listening and toss those lists out, to find ten different underlying

spiritual causes.

To bring it back to stone spirits this is also why I find general

recommendations about stone spirits to spiritually support healing

from certain dis-eases to be equally problematic. If, for example,

somehow has, spiritually speaking, developed a tumor because they're

not fully expressing themselves then the spirits of Turquoise may

offer some support. However, someone else may have developed the same

sort of tumor because they have a hard time nurturing themselves. In

that case Manganocalcite may offer the energy and lesson they need,

while Turquoise may offer very little.

I wish that more people doing this sort of work made this clearer in

their books and such. Painting spiritual causes and stone spirits

that support healing with such a broad brush leads people to believe

that all roads to healing look the same. When you compound that with

the degree of authority many authors and " experts " assert this only

further alienates people from their own knowing and, worse yet, from

their impulse to listen.

For me the real healing begins when we move beyond these generalities

and listen to each person and each dance with great specificity. We

may draw upon experiences from previous dances, but we cannot assume

they hold any meaning in the one we face in the moment. Everyone has

a unique road to dis-ease and, relatedly, a unique road to healing.

That means that books and carefully crafted lists of simplified

causes may do us no good at all in real life.

That is why listening is, I believe, the road to real healing.

Listening allows us to consider the individual and their unique road,

without trying to fit them into assumptions that are likely too

general to be true or useful to any meaningful degree.

This, of course, applies to listening for stone spirits to support us

in our dances as well. If we move beyond the string of first steps

that have been presented in books and workshops on stone spirits for

several decades now we will find a whole new field of possibility,

one where we learn directly from the stones and are guided perfectly

into MORE!

Of course this requires us not only setting asides the pile of

assumptions, but also releasing the illusions of stones being tools

and objects to be used and, instead, embracing a more respectful and

Loving perspective that honors them as spirits. Tools aren't likely

to teach, while spirits surely are. <grin>

I know all of these general lists are generally made and offered with

good intentions, like the poster that replied to the original

inquiry. I hope, however, that we can learn to recognize these

generalizations as a first step and learn to let them go in favor of

deeper, more meaningful and more tangible offerings.

In Love,

Fabeku

Hello All,

If this message was caused by my posting to Tom inre his sick friend, I wanted

to clarify that I really did mean use what you like and disregard the rest; the

" listing " was my own, not from Louise Hay nor anyone else, and the suggested

stones and crystals were from my own listening. Never my intent to cause guilt,

the " gift " that keeps on giving. I do observe that guilt can be caused by all

manner of things. Not only that, but what is one person's guilt causation is

another person's freedom ticket. Once again, use what you like and disregard

the rest.

Love, Light and Blessings to us all, diana
