FUNDS REQUIRED TO START HOLISTIC HOSPITAL

 

 

DR. LEO REBELLO’S PROPOSALTO ROHA ASHTAMI RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION

 

Second meeting to “re-start” the now defunct Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Roha was held on July 8, 2008 at which Dr. Leo Rebello and his associates (Navnit Mehta and others) from Mumbai, had discussion with the said Hospital Committee and the representatives of the Roha Industries Association. Like in the first meeting, held on June 22, 2008, Prof. Rebello once again clarified that he would help set up a New Holistic Health Hospital, as early as possible, provided full cooperation was received from the Roha residents. No religion, no caste, no partisan politics, no fleecing business: only manav seva being the avowed aim.

 

Accordingly the following proposal is tabled:-

 

1.. The old hospital building needs (a) major repairs and renovation, (b) water proofing © painting, (d) equipments and airconditioning of major and minor Operation Theatres, Burns unit, ICU and the office block. Rough estimate Rs.3 crores.

 

2.. The renovated hospital will be fully functional by 1st January 2009, provided the trustees, industry representatives and Roha residents, cooperate and contribute.

 

3.. Provision of approx Rs.2 crores will have to be made for overheads for the year 2009-2010 till the hospital income and expenses break-even.

 

4.. MOU should be signed by 15th August and total vacant possession of the land and buildings should be handed over without any encumberance, not later than 31 Aug 2008.

 

5.. Either trust-to-trust transfer or 50 years clear lease of hospital and the entire adjoining land (some two and half acres) including the separate plot of land divided by road, and management rights, without any interference from the present MC or local politicians, should be handed over to Dr. Leo Rebello and his associates who may register a new foundation for the purpose, if required.

 

6.. This MOU should be duly approved by the Charity Commissioner, duly registered and irrevocable for 50 years to prevent mischief, losses and puny politics due to which the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital was closed down.

 

7.. Dr. Rebello and his associates or their Registered Foundation, their trustees, relatives or managers will NOT be responsible for the past dues, loans, liabilities, legal or illegal deals, pending court cases, etc. of the now defunct Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.

 

8.. Dr. Rebello and his associates or their Registered Foundation undertake to pay Annual Rent of Rs.1 lakh only, to the Roha Ashtami Residents Association (Reg.no. F/80 and Bom-8/73KLB/74) as per the MOU.

 

9.. After 10 years, the Roha Ashtami Residents Association may consider total transfer of the ownership of land, buildings, lean etc. to the new foundation headed by Dr. Rebello.

 

10. The new management reserves the right to change the name of the hospital to avoid complexities and to define the new vision.

 

11. In the first phase the renovated and renamed hospital, under Dr. Leo Rebello’s able leadership, will have the following departments, step by step:-

 

(i) OPD (ii) Surgery. (iii) Maternity. (iv) Casualty and Emergency. (v) ICU. (vi) Burns Unit.(vii) Ayurveda (including Panchkarma). (viii) Homeopathy deptt. (ix) Nature Cure department, including hydrotherapy, chromopathy, pyramid, magnets, mud therapy, acupressure, etc. (x) Hall forYoga asanas, kriyas, meditation, health lectures, etc. (xi) Physiotherapy, including Osteopathy and Chiropractice. (xii) Eye Care. (xiii) Pathology. (xiv) Kitchen and Cafetaria. (xv) Artificial Limbs. (xvi) Dental deptt. and (xvii) Home Nursing.

 

12. Additionally, the New Holistic Health Hospital will have 24-Hour Chemist where Allopathic, Ayurvedic, Homeopathic, Natural medicines and all the accessories required by the patients and doctors of Roha and adjoining areas will be available, at reasonable price round the clock.

 

13. ICU ambulance and mobile clinic will also be provided in due course.

14. In the second phase, Dr. Leo Rebello will add Nursing, Physiotherapy, Naturopathy, and other graduate and post graduate courses. Herbs will also be grown organically in part of the two acres land. In short, the new Hospital will have New Approach which will be a Holistic (meaning total or integrated) Patient Care.
