The full Article available in the link http://www.indiatogether.com/2008/aug/env-rainwater.htmby Sri Padre in India Together is an experiment conducted by an individual Sri S Ganesh Mallya, a high school teacher cum Sunday farmer in Yedapadavu in Karnataka, Bit by bit, he filled his well and greened his plot without borewells. Using simple techniques to catch rainwater, he has managed to raise the water level in his open well and grow a bountiful farm.

The technique is conventional simply a repeat of what has been happening in India for thousands of years, digging pond as per the need in rural and urban areas to hold water and also permit water to refill the Ground water. Therefore it is extremely cheap in comparision to the " now propogated RWH techniques of pucca construction and use of cement concrete, pipes and all the market oriented items.

I suggest to all those who have some love for water conservation and harvesting to go through the Full Article.-- Dr.V.N.Sharmahttp://canvas.nowpos.com/vnsharma
