Why CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS [Think over it]

Hello My dear Brothers and Sisters,

Good Morning and a Great New Day full of laughter,

joy and peace to you all,

 

One of the principles behind good health is Cleanliness ....

 

I remember in my school days when we would be writing pages

after pages of some proverb in order to improve our writing ..

 

One of the proverbs that seeped into my subconscious was

 

CLEANLINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS

 

And this is one of the core concepts of a healthy Life ..

Cleanliness means no disease ..

or rather no fertile ground for the bacteria to multiply ...

 

But that is on the physiological level ... and that's all we

take it to mean .... So wasteful of us or ignorant ....

 

The proverb says nothing about just physical cleanliness ...

It just says Cleanliness is next to Godliness ...

 

So that translates to cleanliness at all levels ..

Uh .. oh ... Problems galore here ...

 

Some of you are already getting the funny feeling in your gut again ..

(Like Oh!! No .. That Rahul .. always making life difficult ... ...

Why can't he just shut up and let Life be as it is ....

with the Saas bahu soaps on Telly and popcorn movies

and all things fluffy and nice ...

But no, he has to go and show us the mirror ... )

 

So, then I am already guessing that you know

what I am alluding to here .. so far that is ,,,

coz' the next para is going to be blunt

 

here goes ..

 

I am referring to cleanliness within ....

 

and no not the cleanliness of your colon ..

(God knows what you eat if you need to clean that too ...)

 

But the cleanliness of heart and mind ...

which is where the rot begins ..

the rot that eats away at your soul ....

 

Yep, ... that's where it all begins ..

 

In fact, that's where it all began in the first place ...

when Eve was seduced by the serpent ....

when Rishis in India got seduced by Apsaras ..

when the young today get seduced by pleasures of the senses

that wash them up on the shores of the island of addictions

from where they are unable to find their way back to sanity....

 

Yes Sir, that's where it all begins ...

 

The MIND ...

 

The Human mind ...

and that is where the process of cleaning

should begin ...

A popular term being used these days is

 

Mental housecleaning ...

 

Just like normal houslecleaning wherein you take useless stuff

and dispose of it .. you do that on a mental level ...

 

All the dead habits ...

 

attitudes ... dislike ... hate ... envy ....

 

You throw it out ...

 

In other words .. you let go of it ...

 

You stop holding on to past hurts which only make you bitter ..

 

You apologise to people you know you have hurt

and make peace with your conscience ...

 

you give up wasting your time in useless pursuits (called Time pass)

so that you can utilise your time more productively ...

 

You get the boring tasks done

(which you had been avoiding for some time)

 

In other words, all those things weighing upon your mind ..

 

You either resolve or let go ....

 

You stop holding on to it and let them go ..

 

Thsi way, you clear up space in your house

and mind and hearts to welcome

new things, ideas, concepts and attitudes in your Life ..

 

You pray to God and install Him in your Heart

as there is now sufficient space to do it ...

and suddenly, there is Light ...

 

Voila!!!!! ... Enlightenment ... Satori ... whatever you want to call it ...

 

I did some housecleaning in yesterday's editorial in getting out

what i had wanted to say about our world and the direction

it is heading in .. and through these same editorials everyday,

 

I throw out a bit everyday ...

 

not as junk ... but as resolutions ...

 

Resolutions that crystallise into clarity of thought

from the confusion of niggling feeling within... ....

 

Your responses only help me to do that more effectively ...

That's why I love you all ... ...

 

Think over it (the cleaning part .. not my Love )

and get your own nigglers resolved out into the open ....

 

And Now time being a continously depreciating asset, lets not

waste it anymore but Seize the day as in

 

CARPE DIEM

Well said Rahul!

 

However, as you will know if you have ever fasted, and your gut is as clean and empty as a whistle, that when your gut is clean your emotions are pure and your mind is clear and clean - the body is not divorced from the mind and the heart, if one is truly clean so then are the others.
