Email AnaMariaPast Articles from the EFT WebsiteShe put away her medication for Asthma: Sue Sawyer, a therapist based in Hampshire (UK), writes an extraordinary account of how, after using EFT, she put away her medication for Asthma after 34 years as an asthmatic. She gives us an important look at some necessary belief changes as well as some of the tapping issues. She says,"Three weeks passed, my chest had not reacted, and my inhalers were put away. I felt such a high and that high is still with me. After thirty-four years I no longer check frantically in my bag for my inhaler, in fact I don't know where it is?" I must emphasize that discontinuing her medications was entirely Sue's choice and should not necessarily be considered a recommendation to others. A lesson in "Letting Go": This brief story by Alan Morison from the UK provides a simple alternative to forgiveness that can be very helpful for some clients. As he puts it, "Your articles on Forgiveness are all so very relevant. That alone is probably the biggest impediment to progress, but as Pat Carrington says, forgiving seems an abstract kind of concept to deal with and therefore not easy to do. While she uses 'understanding' of the problem, I like to use the phrase "Letting Go' which I used with a client just recently to great effect." Giving more meaning to the 0-10 intensity rating: Therapists often use the term SUDS (Subjective Units of Distress) as a way to describe the 0-10 intensity scale that we often use within EFT. Marian Slaman from Canada shows us a way to expand this concept to provide more in-depth experiences for some clients. EFT helps remove "stuck ring": Here's an intriguing report from Lydia Campbell regarding the use of EFT to remove a VERY tightly fitting ring over her 11 year old daughter's swollen finger. This is yet another example of the EFT concept of "Try it on everything." Please note that "Try it on everything" does not include inexperienced people applying EFT on psychotic patients or otherwise "going where you don't belong." Ankylosing Spondylitis and numbness from Diabetes: Rebecca Marina conducts a phone session and provides remarkable results for the symptoms of two serious diseases. Please note her creative and intuitive approaches...and this piece of advice: "As you know Gary, with a serious disease, one must keep re-applying and addressing different aspects as they come up. It is wonderful to get such great results in a one hour session but it needs to be done on a regular basis." Why do people resist EFT?: This 2 part series by Dr. Patricia Carrington explores an important concept which serious students will want to contemplate.
