Guest guest
A while back I inquired about Libby's organic beans, and that the bar code did not match the #'s provided in an eariler post- I since have read that those #'s are not correct- but in the meantime I contacted Libby's and asked them where they get their Beans from- here is their reply- At Seneca, we too are concerned with product integrity and food safety, and fully understand your concerns. We actually can the beans at our plant in Idaho; however some of the organic beans we use in the canning process are sourced from China. We require that those beans are certified by the leading organic certificating agency in the United States, the Organic Crop Improvement Association, known as the OCIA. In addition, we quality test the products ourselves to assure its food safety. Our Libby's label is over 135 years old, and among the most trusted names in food, and we will not compromise food safety. If product is imported, it is mandatory that the statement " imported from " is stamped on the lid of the can. If there is no statement stamped on the lid, the product is grown and packed in the US. The other vegetables are grown/packed in the US.
