Really? Maybe you can help me out a bit. I'm a bit confused here to which of the hundred or so of traditional karate's you mean. I mean, there are hundreds of them, all claiming to be the best. Do you mean the traditional karate taught in Okinawa BEFORE 1912 when Itosu " adapted " his martial arts system for the grade school children in a " special " way so they could use it for a physical exercise? ....to use it in a way that would not endanger all the other children? Or are you refering to the " deluted " methods after that event? Are you refering to the karate that was changed in 1938 by a Master's board consisting of top Okinawan and Japanes YuDanCha to point out the philosophical differences of that " new " karate to the older more self-defense orientated karate? ....as, according to them, such drastic and vulgar self-defense was no longer necessary in the world then. (This was just one year before the Japanese allied themselves with the Germans in their efforts to conquer the world;-) Are you refering to the " brand " karate that went to Japan in 1922 and was taught by that " little fellow " to the upper class of Japan? Are you refering to the Motobu system, a system that was very effective, but since Choki Motobu was not a " nice " person, the port authorities refused to let him get off the boat in Hawaii...is that the traditional system you are refering to? Are you refering to the Kano system of jiu-jitsu that actually had 18 death matches in 1912 to decide which system was the best system...and 17 of the matches were won by people that had previously studied Aikijutsu? If so, then which version of the many are you refering to of that system... ....his original book, had a couple of neat chapters in it, chapters that were removed from the later editions... Those chapters were, " The Serious and Fatal Blows " ...and " Kuatsu, or The Restoration of Life " ... Seems to me those are important chapters... ....but the publisher stated, " ...these sections have been dropped because their value to the public is questionable and they do not contribute to the over-all values of the book... " What do you think? Please help me learn. Then, when I know which is THE BEST, I can ask you about which specific " simple principles " you are refering to.;-) I am so confused. I'm a bit confused here to which of the hundred or so of traditional karate's you are refering to???
