Guest guest
Hello Roger, Almost all of us prefer natural sources of all vitamins when we can get enough in our diets from natural sources to do the job. Unfortunately, most foods and diets are of poor quality due to many reasons, so that is not possible or feasable in a lot of cases. Also to correct a problem usually requires that you take a very large dose in relation to an amount needed for maintanence of health. To take a large amount of a vitamin usually requires that we take whatever is best that is available in the large dosages. Ascorbic acid is a prime example. Ascorbic acid is vitamin C. It does have a vitamin C complex that works together with vitamin C that makes it better. (All vitamins work in synergy with each other.) If one were to take 10 grams a day to correct a chronic condition it probably is not feasable to take it in complex, but rather in one of the simpler ascorbates forms. If one requires 100,000 mgs of vitamin C a day for a few days to kill some virus or correct some other serious condition, it becomes even more necessary to use a pharmacuetical grade asscorbate because now you are talking about getting it in your body via IV transmission. We have hundreds of articles in our archives about vitamin C, most with reference links for you to read. There are also many links on our links page to sites with much, much information about this vitamin. There is so much important information written about vitamin C, that in an email it would be impossible to cover any signifigant amount to do it justice. If you are new to all this, the right place to start is in the basics such as provided in our links. regards, Frank , " roger " <mercies@c...> wrote: > Hi Alobar-- > > I must confess that I am a real beginner at all this. Guest guest
Elaine, Where did you get this article? I love it! I would like to use it in my monthly health newsletter and would need to know the source. Please let me know, ok? I have been telling this to people for years, but nobody believes me! Purchased vitamin C pills are only one part of the “real” vitamin C, which has nine parts. You create a chemical imbalance in your body when you take a vit. C pill, because where are the other eight parts? Your body doesn’t know how to use a vit. C pill because it’s not a whole food. So it puts a lot of stress on your whole body, and your body will take stuff like minerals, enzymes and protein from inside your bones, your tissues and your organs to try to process that supplement. You are doing more harm than good with isolated nutrients. Guest guest
That's why they're called " supplements. " If you're worried that you're only taking a fragment of Vitamin C when you take it in pill form, simply see to it that you take your C together with whole foods, containing C in its natural form. The idea is to magnify the effects of Vitamin C, while consuming small amounts of wholesome food. I never take vitamins without eating quality foods along with them. Guest guest
The other 8 parts of the C complex are in the food you eat. You should always eat food, when you take vitamins. - Carol Minnick Wednesday, October 15, 2003 5:16 AM RE: Outcome of Vit.C/ascorbic acid studies Elaine, Where did you get this article? I love it!
