You're all so lucky to have been able to breastfeed. Some of us are not so

lucky; I only wish that my children could have had the extra benefit, but Nature

was not kind to me. Supplements for bringing in milk (and expensive mechanical

pumps) did not help, my ducts are simply malformed.

I have always felt that breastfeeding mothers looked down upon me, because I

bottle-fed, but I had no choice. It's just something that one can't explain to

each and every person they encounter, who gives them dirty looks in public. So

please, keep in mind that there are lots of women out there like me, who

honestly had no choice of what to feed their babies.

(PS--I don't assume that you look down on non-breast feeding mothers, and I hope

that this doesn't come across that way. I thank whomever it was that sent out

the bad formula warning too--even though my own children have outgrown formula,

I know that you've helped others with this info.)

Blessings to you & yours,

Ahreinya

weaning them gave them soy formula, and now soy milk. But without doubt,

breastmilk is the best and healthiest food for babies. In my opinion, cow's

milk formula is downright dangerous and has been linked to colic, asthma,

allergies, and even sudden infant death syndrome. It should not be given to

babies or young children, milk is not the " healthy, perfect food " as we have

been so long led to believe. Cow's milk has even been known to cause problems

for babies that are being breastfed when their mothers drink it. The milk

protiens pass into the breastmilk, along with antibiotics, bovine growth

hormone, and any pesticides the cow has been exposed to.

Soy milk is oversold too, however. It contains plant estrogens that may not be

good for children.
