Guest guest
Hi, Hmmm, there is a simple test called an " anterior drawer test " or " anterior drawer sign " which can check for a possible tear in the ACL. Try http://www.aclstudygroup.com/ACLFinal/acl02n.htm or just do an internet search. However, an MRI is much more definitive than a anterior drawer sign. An MRI should show if your ACL is torn. In fact, your surgeon should be able to show it to you on your MRI. It sounds odd that a surgeon would be going in to graft a torn ACL without even knowing if it's torn or not. What does your surgeon say when you ask him to show you your ACL on your MRI?
