Okay, what in Hell is an " emoticon " ? Was this a joke? > Your first note came across as humor at the expense of the previous >writer. Ouch. Yep. Ouch. I was in a hurry and sent it away accidentally without that little story. I had that little story marked out (page 109 Secret Science at Work) but neglected to include it. Right after sending it, I noticed that and removed it. Then I resent it again with the story in it. > Your second, with the anecdote, probably said more what was meant. >In Christian tradition, and without joking most of the time, I have >heard it as " pray, but take care of your own garden. All healing energy practitioners might want to study, " See YOU At The Top " . > Irony is almost impossible to get across in an email. I think that most people do not know what " irony " means. It seems they think it must mean " axxhole " or something derogatory, when it really means " the use of words to signify the opposite of what they actually said " , ie, " " When he lost his wallet he said, 'This is my LUCKY day.' " > Using a proverb works a lot better--remember Milton Erikson and his >stories? Yep, which is the reason I put that story in there. > It is another good practice to be mindful of how your words will >affect others, even I find it AMAZING how some people can be offended by the most innocent statement, if a Wood element or a Metal element says it. What I find even more weird is what Fire elements can do, that is much worse as far as language, and everyone loves them. Nomally Fire elements are happy and have a smile on their face. Now us Wood elements would say, " yes, but it seems to be a fake smile to me! " And the Earth element would answer back, " A fake smile is much better than a glum face! " My answer to that incongruency, is to adopt FIRE (and a bit of EARTH) when I give my super intensives, and to be Wood/Metal when I write my books and mind map my DVD's, and CD's. Then to turn on the Fire/Earth when I actually do the presentations. In the presentations you must get the energies of the audience in tune and moving the same direction. Woods can do that, but it is more like the military bootcamp. Metals can do that but the entire class is fast asleep after 5 minutes. Fires do that portion better than all the rest. When writting, the structure of Metal is necessary and the specifics of Metal are necessary. Of course mixed into this must be the 13 primary motivators that people have and they must be structured around the 4 primary reasons people learn anything. > when you are Wood or Metal (or both) and thus ALWAYS right!.:-) Yes Sue, that makes sense. Since I am Wood/Metal, I must always be right! Makes perfect sense to me. Group I'm using irony again! It's a form of humor. What in Hell is an emoticon? Ps. Sue, I really did enjoy working with you at the CP. You sense of humor is actually one of my high points of that trip. > Sue humor, hurt, Elements, irony and emoticons
