Guest guest
>>>I don't know if we ever had and an answer for this I wonder if it might be a crystal growth something in the slice that has reacted to whatever If it is inside the stone I am thinking that maybe there was a water bubble in it when she got it and that has evaporated leaving whatever was suspended in the water to crystallize in the hollow area -- Peggy>>> *************************************** the " white fungus " is part of the natural growth of the amethyst which gets its colour from the minerals present in the ground it grows in. the white growth is nothing more than lack of colour. Obviously it is picking up nuetrients from its environment and still growing, although this would be so slow it would not be noticeable Blessings, Grey Wolf>>> Thanks for the comments! I did also ask this gentleman that has been coming into my shop about it....he is very smart when it comes to rocks he says that any of the quartz family can at some time revert back to quartz.....wether it is citrine, or amethyst etc. This seems so odd to me that rocks can continue to grow even after being formed. Boy do I have lots to learn still http://www.scentsappeal.net ---------- --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
