Being a member of this group has it's benefits!!

I have to share with you all about something that happened to me last week and how being a member of this group turned it into a success.

I am a Bowen Therapist, not many people have a clue what Bowen is. However, one of my clients is a race walker and she arranged for me to come and give a talk about what I do to her group that meets for a short presentation before they go out and walk.

I drew up a rough outline several weeks ago and put it to one side. Then came the discussions around marketing, flyers etc. and there was a huge amount of valuable information shared that I decided I would put into the brochure that I am rewriting. Didn't even think about my talk. A couple of days before the talk I pulled out my notes and completely rewrote them using the shared information. Earlier I had also used Segment Intending to have me arrive on time (be careful what you ask for!!), for the talk to go well and for me to say exactly what was needed.

The traffic down there was horrific and I arrived about 4 minutes before I was due to speak. I made a joke of it and chatted to people as I organized my cards, handouts etc. And I am normally so nervous I am shaking and unable to talk!!

I spent the first 10 minutes of the talk on " what's in it for them " before I even mentioned Bowen. I started by asking for a show of hands of how many had been unable to train due to injuries (a large percentage). I then talked about injury prevention, keeping their whole body balanced in order to help performance and prevent injury, as well as how to be proactive about staying healthy and paying attention to the very first signs of a problem coming on. They were pretty much on the edges of their seats by the time I talked about Bowen and they asked some awesome questions at the end. We actually went 5 minutes over time due to all the questions. There was lots of fun and laughter and I felt really great afterwards.

As a result I already have 3 new clients booked in, from a fairly small group, and they have to travel quite a way to get to me!!

Now I have to settle down to rewriting my handouts using a similar approach. I am also using what I am learning in the RV/RI course to start to manifest all sorts of things in my life and business. It is really cool and fun!!!
