Question about Totems

Peggy or anyone who would like to respond,

I would love to hear about totem animals. I was led through a meditation to

find out what my totem animal was and I had a vision of a turtle. I was a bit

disappointed because I was expecting something more majestic like a lion or a

wolf. Anyway, I know for sure the turtle wasn't my idea. So I'm very curious

what a turtle would want or need to teach me? The only thing I could come up

with was a turtle hiding in his shell for safety. If you knew me, you would

say I need to come out of my shell! Any idea what it means?
