Hey All,

Sorry, if you get this more than once, or are not interested but...Im

sending an all-out Help Alert on behalf of the Katrina-effected Americans.

I've been volunteering, every day, down at the Astrodome and other areas

with the Katrina-effected folks. Many Great Opportunities to help out

desparate folks are here. After helping out for 4 days with only 4

hours sleep, I finally got to rest today and thought I would sent this

out to inform ya, whats the current status of a few things.

If you or anyone you know has any food, clothes, towels, books, toys or

anything else, you would like to share...Please contact me. or contact

Unity Church of Houston, or any other Houston area church. Cash/Check

Donations are all welcomed by those folks. Contact the Red Cross or any

other help organization you see fit. There are many.

Im an delivering donated items, Mostly out of my own pocket, and

delivering in person, as a volunteer to the actual folks that really

need them Right Now.

Things are still very dis-organized, but making improvements daily, and

I think Red Cross and other helpful organizations are great, But they

are simply too slow and will take a couple days to a couple of weeks to

actually get them in the hands of those.

If you want to Volunteer, you can show up, at any of the Major or Minor

shelters, and ask to speak with the Volunteer Coordinator, and they will

put you to work, in a wide variety of areas. Red Cross has a 5 minute

to 2 hour Orientation training, if you don't know how to start.

Unfortunately, the government is treating these folks, right now, as

cattle...in the respect, to handling only the shelter, and food

concerns. So if you want to volunteer, there are now over 30,000 folks

who, right now, are feeling ignored, emotionally, and are yearning to

have small to big concerns.

One thing, These folks need is jobs. I've been buying Lots of

Newspapers, and Greensheets and folks that want to work, just gobble

them up..every time, I hand them out.

There are lots and lots of opportunities to help...and I urge you to do

something. or gather things, so I can help these folks out.

One woman, Gene, in her 60s had no shoes for the past week, and her

daughter and her, had to also take care of 3 handicapped kids. They

spent 8 hours in a medical area, to get some prescriptions, but then

they were abandoned there by the nurses. Who had no clue, where they

should go.. I found them, asked if they needed any help, and I escorted

all 6 of them, to a registration area, where by 2:30am, they finally

had cots. The next day, I got her some shoes to wear. Something about

kids with autism, retardation, and other challenges.

Another woman, Marie, was wheel-chair bound and diabetic and really

overweight, I " accidently " came across, and a nurse saw me and asked

if I could help her out, as she was busy taken care of another woman

with a broken and bleedy leg/ankle. She had not had any insulin since

before the Hurricane a week ago. I took her to the Medical area, where

the nurses there refused to help her give her a shot. I was told that

she had to go to a medical clinic, that was in another building, Houston

Reliant Arena. The real challenge was that Me and one other volunteer

had to push this heavy-set lady, up this steep driveway ramp, 3 stories

worth, to where we could catch a handicap bus. At the top, there were

about 20 cops, all just watching us...push his lady up the hill and

finally 2 of them, came to help, as we were nearing the top. She

finally got some insulin 3 hours later!

There are countless stories of folks I could share, of lost family

members, trauma of New Orleans rapes and floating bodies, but this is

just a small sample of the challenges, of lots of folks that have lots

of needs, but very few of them, are being met, right now. I hope this

will change, in a big way soon. We'll see.

Astrodome has abut 15,000 folks, Reliant Stadium has about 10,000

folks, Reliant Center has about 4,000, Reliant Arena has about 6,000

and George R. Brown Convention has about 15,000 folks. Thats a lot of

folks!

The sad part is seeing a whole wall filled with different notes of folks

looking for lost daughters, sons, mothers, fathers and other family

members. and poor orgazitional efforts, that is adding to folks misery

and confusion.

With only about an hour or two of sleep, working into the night and

morning..I was tired...Energy Medicine really helped me and my energies

stay strong...Today..I finally just got 5 hours of sleep today and Im

headed back to help out some more. in helping with breakfast

preparations or medical drug stores needed to be set up,

It may take a few days for me to be back online, so if you email me,

please be patient.

Thanks and Keep Your Prayers Strong.

Love, Light and Laughter
