Guest guest
Here's a hiccup cure. same results stated below. i was told by the person that taught it to me, it was an old indian cure. 2 people needed (but I've done it successfully on my dog and myself). you put your right thumb on the other person wrist pulse. Count their pulse. Have them do the same to you. You both need to count the OTHER persons pulse. Usually works within the next few hiccups - if they get anymore at all. I too went into a shoe store one day and a young girl had severe hiccups - they were considering taking her to the hospital - and she said they hurt. The hiccups stopped within seconds counting my pulse. Try it. Likely you'll remember it all the time :-) BonnieB In a message dated 10/28/2002 10:45:15 PM Eastern Standard Time, califpacific writes: << Dear Group, I posted a simple cure the other day for thrush by using grape juice. There are a lot of simple cures that really work. One that I have know about for over 30 years and have never seen it to fail is a cure for hiccups. So if this ever fails let me know and we will refund your money. HaHa. Here it is folks. Sugar! Thats right common table sugar. If anyone has the hiccups just give them a teaspoon or one of those small individual packets of sugar. No sweet and low doesn't count. Have them hold it in their mouth and let it dissolve. The hiccups will stop usually within 1 to 2 minutes. I once was visiting someone in the hospital and went to the hospital cafeteria for something to eat, where the cashier was having a terrible case of hiccups. I mentioned it to her about the sugar and it worked. She later told me that she had had them for hours and non of the docs or nurses there could help. From my present point of view that doesn't surprise me much. Of course I know today that they could have given her something to suppress her symptoms, but that would probably have bad side effects, then she would have needed recovery therapy then maybe an operation or two. And if she didn't survive, they would always be counted on to give you the " we did everything we could to save her, but she was awfully bad off anyway, you know " speech. Although refined sugar isn't good for you from a nutritional perspective, it seems a litle sugar might be ok in the above situation. Try it, it works..... or see your doctor. Guest guest
I guess that does sound funny :-) but you can do it to a dog or a baby... for the dog I just put my finger tips gently/firmly under her underarm/leg? until I could feel her pulse/heartbeat. Frankly, I had her undivided attention (Mom! What the heck are YOU doing?)... Not a peep or a movement (which is what you want - total attention). Then I counted her pulse.... I have also tried doing that with my thumb on my own pulse at the same time... so far so good. Guest guest
Alobar, If I tell you anymore now, some on the list may not use this properly. Please put this note in your calendar to bring it up to the list again in about a month, after some folks have used it. I'll give you my opinions on why it works after some have tried it. :-) Bon In a message dated 10/29/2002 8:12:06 PM Eastern Standard Time, alobar writes: << You have my curiosity up here.
