Guest guest
does anyone know much about vaccinations. If you don't have your child vaccinated, do you have any support groups for anti-vaccine mothers. Do you have any treatment ideas for when the baby does get whooping cough? Guest guest
" Life saving antibiotics are losing their effectiveness and eventually will cure as well as a sugar pill. " World Health Organization Press Release " You might say that a virus doesn't give you the flu; an immune system that doesn't defeat the virus is what gives you the flu. The key is immunity. " Jenny Thompson - Health Sciences Institute Dear Vicky; (I'll talk more than just about the flu). There is so much good information about vaccinations out there, after finding my way through the maze with my children I don't keep much except generalizations in my head on the first question. You will find on my updated resources page though or search Dr. Sherry Tenpenny, Dr. Mercola, and a particularly interesting article User-Friendly Vaccination Schedule for children, by Donald Miller, MD/cardiac surgeon, for ample discussion. When my daugher, REna, was still quite young (28 this year!) she was not well and I gook her to a homeopath. He asked me about the immunizations and made an interesting comment I've not heard elsewhere that makes a lot of sense, so I'll share that and then some Ayurvedic general points. I'd love to hear more from Hakim, Dr. REddy and others if you will possibly be checking in on the latter? The doctor commented that the recent generation of children were generally the first or second in a long meat and potato type dietary lineage who were changing their dietary habits thanks to guidance from their parents going health food conscious, vegetarian, etc. The effect of exploring many things, changing a deep pattern, whether you call it genetic or not the body has adapted and is having to adapt in new ways. This doctor observed in clients that this creates a more fragile status, where he saw more succeptibility to intense reactions even life threatening to the vaccinations as well as other medical interventions and often, dissease influences. He also observed that those who continued to be heavy sausage, fried foods and gravy type traditional american diet, as well as heavy junk food eaters had a courser strength with which to withstand the side effects of the immunizations. This certainly makes sense to me. In any case, the conditions of vaccinations in general being that they put an aggravation on the system to make it create antibodies still means the system is being challenged, and a system which less " stable " and less strong in cruder strengths, and is opening up subtler levels of functioning and new experiences, and still working to create a new " ground " for it will be more easily thrown. The need for protection from infectious diseases and the need to handle the challenges once one has them are again two more issues. From the viewpoint of Ayurveda (all natural medicine) keeping the immune system strong and the system cleansed, emphasyzing good food combining and appropriate temperature, quality, taste, freshness, cooking method, and choice of food for the person including season as well as other lifestyle and stressors all have their role in ANY disease prevention and reversal. Not to underrate the importance of immediate attention, but it is valuable to understand that the childhood diseases although serious are still not such great mysteries and there is so much a mother or practitioner can do to mitigate. Because I am not trained as a physician, I cannot give advice here, but again can only theorize. Regarding protection and reversal both, I have seen a very active support group on several essential oils forums and can send you there, Vicky. Because research also confirms the power of certain eoils for antibacterial, yes antiviral, antifungal, antioxidant, anticatarrhal, and many other qualities - even to recent hospital antimicrobial comparison studies, I continue to keep my eoils as an important aprt of my personal and client care tool kit. The potency of therapeutic grade essential oils is many times in one drop over in a larger than one can reasonably take dried or fresh herb. ONe drop of such peppermint oil is effective equivalent to 20 - 28 cups of tea! One cann't wisely drink that much, but the oil gets absorbed directly into the tissues through the lipid similarities easily transported through the body. If you go to http://www.oil-testimonials.com/?x=1441 and put in whooping cough, you will find 18 references to experiences there (I haven't read this group, no guarantees . It is a searchable no hype or chat data archive of eoil experiences, quite valuable resource. www.joygroup is one of the forums - There is a lot of sorting to do as the archives are huge! But well worth the search. I have collected several pages of flu management experiences from posts on this one and /healthlineonline which can be found on my website at http://www.sacredwindow.com/EO-Flu.html. Jessica Wild's Wildharvest group (by approved membership only) is the most aroma-warrior approach, in keeping with more the French model of aromatherapy. I don't agree with all they do, they have no understanding of Ayurvedic principles and overlook as a result many key issues; but at the same time I applaud much of it, and you will find mostly young mothers raising children, facing many such challenges. There are so many mothers choosing to not use vaccines, undoubtedly there are many such groups - and undoubtedly the gorup here would appreciate your sharing any you find. I know there is a support site (don't know address) where you can find sample letters to legally decline immunizations, the wording of which varies somewhat from state to state. If I were asked my opinion how to handle whooping cough, I would first look into the list of body systems and tissues involved, symptoms, timing and risks involved and then work with the knowledge available to me for supporting the body best through these experiences. If I was knowledgebale with the ayurvedic pulse reading, this along with all the other ayurvedic assessment tools would come into the process. Hopefully this offers some further insights in your search to better serve your clients, and if you have information on the whooping cough with which we can translate and begin to collect protocols, anyone? Please share! Warm Regards, Martha
Guest guest
You know what I don't understand, Martha? A newborn baby of a natural living mother who is entirely breastfed for 6 months should have a strong immune system. He is so new to the world, for heavens sake. So why would he get whooping cough, allergies, colds, etc.? Thank you for all the time you expend to share your knowledge.
