Guest guest
Dear Saroj, Greetings from the Lowcountry! How is your summer going? Two friends of mine are moving to Gainesville this fall--he is starting a PhD program at the U, and she is quite frankly freaking out. She is well-traveled, very bright, well-read, intuitive, sparkly with joie de vivre; has worked at biodynamic farms, health food stores, and an amazing herbal apothecary in Scotland. Is there any advice you can offer her about how to plug into the community there? I remember attending a lovely potluck and kirtan when I visited, and so I assured her there are cool and aware people in Gainesville! They will be traveling soon to look for housing. Thanks for any insights/advice you may share. Joshua is almost 18 months and is full of joie de vivre himself! Climbing, babbling, tickling me, learning songs. My MW apprenticeship which had been crawling at a snail's pace, is about to pick up steam (my preceptor said we're about to go on call for practically the next 7 months). You never feel ready to leave your child, do you? I don't know how my doula friends with 3 kids can just up and leave, particularly when they have wee babies. It was never my desire to pump my milk or leave J with a bottle. Hard to attachment parent and then go serve other families. But I trust I will find a balance because the way has been opened for me at this time. Hugs and Blessings, Adrienne
