Guest guest
Hello, I enjoy reading all of the posts here. I am looking for a copy of the book 42 Days for 42 Years. I heard it was out of print for now. Is there anyone who has a copy they are willing to sell or part with? Thank you, Harmonie Bettenhausen kanyakumari ayurveda Milwaukee, WI Hi Harmonie; Delighted to see Kanyakumari.us represented; you seem to have a wonderful training program and team there. Are you 1st or 2nd year program, and are you also studying with Rima? FYI, we are hoping to get a self-published double volume set (cookbook and 42 Days/Keys together) ready by October. See other post on request for recipe testers! My only remaining copy is on loan to a client right now. Good luck - and wish us luck! Guest guest
Dear Harmonie; Although not as detailed with daily how tos, there is a valuable little book by one of our quiet members, a Dr. Kummuda REddy MD/BAMS who practices just outside of Washington DC in her Ayurvedic office/clinic. You can go to her website www.allhealthyfamily.com. Very nicely written, wonderful introduction for clients about pregnancy and postpartum. Her books include: For a Blissful Baby, and Golden Transition: Menopause Made Easy through Maharishi Vedic Medicine. There are two other books on postpartum I like to recommend, if you ignore most of their Ayurvedic and other dietary advice which can contribute to colic among other problems, by lay midwives from the US. Robin Lim, who does amazing midwifery in south east Asia where she has returned with her entire family to call home, serving women bravely and effectively after the tsunamis and many other challenges. Her book is After the Baby's Birth, A Woman's Way to Wellness. Also Aviva Romm, Natural Health after birth writes with great discussion of cross cultural practices as well as some weaving of contemporary perinatal nutrition. They are lacking good understanding of the special posptartum kayakalpa needs. But gaining this, we can serve mothers even more, if we can embrace also their abundantly shared loving wise-woman experience, style and ways.
