Guest guest
Hello everyone, I have been reading on this group for awhile, and find it very interesting. I have never introduced myself, though. I am Esther Shubin and reside in Australia. I am wondering if anyone can refer me to a source where I can purchase some ayurvedic herbs, maybe around here in South Australia. I have searched it out, but I cannot seem to be able to locate a place. I purchased a book by Vasant Lad, The Comlete Book of Ayurvedic Home Remedies, which is very nice and I am enjoying. I would, also, really like to find a good book dealing more with pregnancy, babies, and children. I was having an issue with prolonged menstruation, I would begin and the bleeding would continue for 18 to 20 days. It wasn't heavy or anything, but annoying. Then I started on the master cleanser, which made me start menstruating when I just finished a few days before. I spoke to Ysha and she suggested that I avoid spicy, tomatoes, etc. She also recomended lots of cilantro, different herbal teas, and to PLEASE STOP THE MASTER CLEANSER! I was pretty desperate, so I did all that, which amazingly cleared up the issues I was having. My last cycle here, I have been trying to eat according to my dosha. It was the first cycle in 6 months that was completely normal! I stopped bleeding in 6 days, had no cramps, it was wonderful! I was also following some of the things outlined for myself in Dr. Vasant Lad's book. I appreciate all the info here, Thank You!!! Guest guest
Mike and Stephie, are you on these days? Do you have bulk Ayurvedic herbs you might send to Esther? I rememered wrong, was trying to refer her to you in Australia. To us in the US, New Zealand is Close to Australia. Hope this helps, Esther. Thanks for sharing your results! Try also contacting Banyanbotanicals.com for a reference there. They serve the US but source (organic!) herbs internationally and are very friendly, organized people. Really nice book out called " For a Blissful Baby " about pregnancy and postpartum, rather summarizes the work but so nicely done to introduce parents to Ayurvedic ways. Author, an Indian woman/ MD named Kumuda Reddy in the US, may still be a lurking member, has never introduced herself here though. There is an Indian couple Barbara Harper (waterbirth International) told me about who published a book not long ago in India on Fertility, Pregnancy and Birth which has sold over 100,000 copies there! They are working on a translation to English, looking forward to it, of course. Will post when I find more info; maybe our Vaidyas in India are familiar with this book or others in English? Warmly; Ysha > > I am wondering if anyone can refer me to a source > where I can purchase some ayurvedic herbs, > maybe around here in South Australia. > I have searched it out, but I cannot seem > to be able to locate a place. > I would, also, really like to find a good book > dealing more with pregnancy, babies, and children.
