Guest guest
Dear Friends - Im reminded again how common is the use of preprepared foods, whether as leftovers, or intentionally frozen meals to ensure enough " nutritious " foods for mom and family after Baby is born. A client just today whom I thought was well educated in Ayurveda is asking in one breath if I can tell if their baby has colic. In the next sentance, saying I don't need to come cook as her husband and friends will have food pre-prepared for her while he is out of town. There will be much educating to do when we meet on Saturday, as is usually the case with mothers. It isn't so easy when they are already a few weeks postpartum, as colic from dietary factors will show up after about 3 weeks poor habits. What digests just fine, freshly prepared, even if the best simple and properly seasoned food choices for postpartum needs, after a day is pretty guaranteed to give gas to Mom and Baby, and start the cycle of buildup of ama - incomplete products of digestion, constipation, and related problems which can accumulate into colic.
