Hi All

Just a quick note to let everyone know that is having big

problems with message delivery and posts getting *lost*. Some people

cannot access their group at all and some groups are not even showing

up.

This problem seems to be affecting larger groups (mainly) so hopefully

you will get this message - but it hasn't shown on the other groups

I've posted it to tho....

If you belong to other groups and are wondering why your messages have

not shown up, or the group has gone quiet - this is why.

Its best NOT to re-post messages (yet!) that haven't shown up as this

will only add to the back log.

Message Delivery Delay

[update as of 8/19 10:43 pm PDT: We're also aware of the problem with

some users getting " 9997 errors " when they try to access a group

and/or users not seeing all their groups in their list of groups. It's

another symptom of the same problem affecting email delivery. You

should expect that these problems will also be fixed together.]

 

[update as of 8/19 6:45 pm PDT: Engineers are still working on the

problem. While the cause of the backlog is known, they are still

working on the fastest way to get all the backlogged messages through

the system so that we can return to normal delivery times. Worth

noting that the delays will be occuring primarily, though not

exclusively, in " large groups " (those over 75 members) and that these

groups will also be having problems with member page related

functions].

 

Just a quick message to let folks that we're aware of the problem many

groups are experiencing with long message delays and are working on a

fix. We'll post a more definitive update when we have one but did want

to assure folks that we're aware of the problem and our engineering

team is on it. Apologies for the delay.
