Guest guest
Hey Kathleen, Won't be out Hunting. Don't own guns, don't want any guns, but like any > good hypocrite, I'd surely take the venison in a HEART BEAT!!! > Glad you admit it .. some of the folks around my neck of the woods claim to be against alcohol .. except for medicinal purposes. ;-) I really like venison more than I do beef .. and we plan to make a lot of jerky this year. > Actually, I've never had a problem with hunting, it's guns that serve no > purpose but to kill people that I object to. > I totally agree .. and when I got my permit to Carry Concealed here in Tennessee, the Henry County Sheriff's office made it clear that they too agreed with your statement. That's why I have the pistol .. to ensure that those who have a desire to kill don't do it. Unless I am the only weird one around ;-) some of you have probably had dreams of being out in public while naked .. that is how I feel when I don't have a weapon within arm's reach. If my family were to become victims because I did not have what I needed at the time I don't even want to consider what kind of dreams I would have .. forever. > How about duck? Goose? Elk? You gonna go for them folk? > Speaking just for Butch .. my cousin farms 1,600 acres here .. 4 miles from our home. His land is cut by the Obion River and it floods each winter. He had a bulldozer construct a dike and he installed floodgates so he can flood one low lying grain field .. and around that field are permanent blinds. Wild Turkey are so thick here they run in flocks on 50-70 .. so meat we will have. > How about How about Moose? > I've never chowed down on that before, but I'd give it a go. > If Sarah invites me to a Moose hunt .. I'll go. ;-) > >sigh< Shame I don't know any hunters... maybe I should go find some! > LOL! > When I lived in your neck of the woods I found plenty of quail, rabbit, duck, goose and deer .. plus took lots of seafood goodies from the Monterey Bay .. so get yourself to a safe hunting course and a SCUBA course and you will meet lots of sports folks .. generally, they exercise far more discipline and police themselves better than the non hunters .. and far more so than the news media. ;-) > K > > P.S. Oh and Rhavda... Yes the kids are all going trick or treating again. > Still dressing up, even the eldest who's 14 and should know better. > Costumes are going to be minimal this year, masks for everyone but no full > out costumes. Too broke to breathe and with this economy, I may have to give > up that right too. ;-) Thanks for Asking about them. K > Not intending to preempt Rhavda's reply .. but here we had a Halloween March of the younguns around the Courthouse Square last Saturday .. winners and such were chosen. And Sunday we went to a church parking lot where they had a Truck N Treat .. folks backed up and opened their trunk or tail gate and kids marched by and collected goodies .. then we all had hamburgers and hot dogs. Twas the first Halloween for my little one and while we were shopping for a costume he wanted one of his hero, Spiderman, but they were all too large so he settled for a $10 Tiny Ninja outfit .. which he calls the Ninja Spiderman. ;-) No door to door for us this year and that does not make me unhappy. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
