Guest guest
Hi guys, I've been really craving Ylang Ylang Extra lately, so I dug my bottle out, took it to work today and put a bit in my hillbilly diffuser. (A drop of EO on a tissue stuck in a styrofoam cup.) Everyone was like " What smells so good?! " whenever they passed by by desk. The oil I have is about 6 years old and has aged very interestingly... I'm getting a predominant *bubblegum* note, but no one else seems to get it. Anyone else get this from Ylang? Ta, Stacey who has always loved the richness of Ylang in the cooler months (it must be down to at least 60F here!) P.S. Please email me off the list with supplier names if you have a recent Ylang Extra that's knocked your socks off... my bottle is almost empty! Guest guest
I don't think I've smelled the extra but I do have some of the complete. How do they differ in scent? (and I've never sensed 'Bubblegum' in any of them. btw, to me, Ylang 3 smells like a sort of generic 'pretty floral' ... but that's just to me Since 1995 - supplying Aromatherapy and Healthcare Professionals Website: http://www.naturesgift.com Blog: http://naturesgiftaromatherapy.blogspot.com/

Guest guest
That is very interesting. I will have to get some extra, so I can check it out. Also, I bought your book and I love it! Great job. It is so pretty too. Stacey--If you, or anyone you know, eats bananas, you really need to see this. It is quite scary. I apologize if I have sent this before, but it bears repeating. http://www.rathergood.com/bananas/ Tracy --\ ------------- Designer at Scrapbook-Bytes http://www.takeapick.com/2IH *Some people only dream of angels; we held one in our arms.* Remembering Jacob March 8 - 9, 1996 Our Angel: http://sids-network.org/fp/jacob.htm - " Marge Clark " <marge <ATFE2 > Friday, November 07, 2008 6:04 PM [ATFE2] Re: Note on Ylang Ylang Extra > At 03:14 PM 11/7/2008, you wrote: > >>I don't think I've smelled the extra but I do have some of the complete. >>How do they differ in scent? >> >>Yours in Har Mar, >>Tracy ;-) > > to my nose the Extra is... more exotic? the Complete is rounder and > somehow fuller. > > but I don't claim to have a professional nose. > > (and I've never sensed 'Bubblegum' in any of them. > > btw, to me, Ylang 3 smells like a sort of generic 'pretty floral' ... > but > that's just to me > > > > Since 1995 - supplying Aromatherapy and Healthcare Professionals > Website: http://www.naturesgift.com > Blog: http://naturesgiftaromatherapy.blogspot.com/ > > > > --- > >

Guest guest
Can someone tell me what Ylang Extra is...I use essential oils...is this the same thing?
Guest guest
Hi Sondra, > Can someone tell me what Ylang Extra is...I use essential oils...is > this the same thing? Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) is one of few plants (flowers, to be exact) in aromatherapy that is distilled to produce more than one type of essential oil. Of the Ylang EO's we have: Extra Superior Xtra Complete First Second Third There is also an Absolute of Ylang Ylang. (Something I have yet to experience!) FWIW, I've experienced Ylang Ylang EO's that range from sublime florals (Ylang Ylang Extra) all the way down to EO's that smell of bacon fat (Ylang Ylang III). It just depends on the distillation and the honesty of the seller in disclosing exactly what it is that they are offering.
