Guest guest
Hello group, I joined a few weeks ago and have failed to introduce myself. I'll keep it brief. :-) My interest in essential oils is a fairly new one born of my studies in the Nutrition Institute at the University of Bridgeport in CT. I've had the opportunity to gain a basic knowledge of the use of botanicals in health and wellness including a class, in this my final semester, in Botanical Medicine (of which essential oils and aromatherapy is a part). I have become quite fascinated and have filled my Amazon wishlist full of books on essential oils and herbology, joined the ABC, and am looking for options for continuing my education in this area. I'm hoping this list will be a place for me to sit and " listen " and learn from the wisdom of those gathered here. Thanks for letting me be a part of this group. I'm glad you found us and de-lurked. :-D > My interest in essential oils is a fairly new one born of my studies in the Nutrition Institute at the University of Bridgeport in CT. Very nice that they included EOs with herbs in your class. There is one reference I highly advise finding that is not on Amazon: Martin Watt's 'Plant Aromatics'. You can find it on his website. http://www.aromamedical.com/ > I'm hoping this list will be a place for me to sit and " listen " and learn from the wisdom of those gathered here. We have just as many here who've used the oils for decades as those who've just discovered them; please feel free to chime in anytime with questions or input. :-) > Thanks for letting me be a part of this group. > > Tina Paxton Take care, Stacey who just has to brag that she is on day 11 of the nicotine patch (wheeeee!) Guest guest
Very nice that they included EOs with herbs in your class. There is one reference I highly advise finding that is not on Amazon: Martin Watt's 'Plant Aromatics'. You can find it on his website. http://www.aromamedical.com/ The class uses 'Rational Phytotherapy' as it's text which does include EOs since EOs is one very viable way of administering the essential oil of a botanical medicine. The program as a whole is online with the requirement to appear on campus for a comprehensive exam in the last semester. We recently gathered for that event and the EOs were flying! ;-) Lavender was foremost amongst the favored EOs both for it's calming affects as well as it's ability to aid memory. To say that the exam room smelled fragrant is an understatement!! hehehehe I will add that book to my list! Thanks for the recommendation!
