Guest guest
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DECEMBER 1, 2009 TAMPA, FLORIDA The United Aromatherapy Effort, Inc. Expands Outreach to the US Armed Forces. The United Aromatherapy Effort, (UAE) is a 501©(3) non-profit charitable organization born out of the September 11th tragedy. The mission of UAE is to provide stress relief and aromatherapy to relief workers, and troops during emergency work, war, and afterwards. We collect and disseminate donated aromatherapy products to those affected by disaster or war in conjunction with chair massage and other natural therapies. Historically, the UAE has responded to the World Trade Center Disaster, NY (2001), Florida Hurricanes (2004), the Gulf Coast affected by hurricanes Katrina and Rita (2005-6), and in 2007-8 the California wildfires and the Gulf Coast Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Tampa, Florida, December 1, 2009 After providing donated aromatherapy and natural wellness supplies to First Responders since September 11, 2001, through the East and Gulf Coast hurricanes and the California Wildfires, the United Aromatherapy Effort, Inc. goes global with the Military Program. Through the global program the UAE now has four Soldiers on the Ground (SOG) receiving and distributing the donated supplies. The SOG's are in Afghanistan (3) and Korea (1) with an outreach that includes the International Security Assistance Force. The SOG's have an agreement with the UAE to provide responsible distribution to other soldiers in their camp, gathering feedback and reporting back to the UAE. The new goal of the UAE is to support every soldier on the ground, at home (e.g. Veterans Administration facilities and Military Bases), and assist soldiers families with aromatherapy, massage, and other complementary and alternative therapies. To that end, the United Aromatherapy has put a call out to massage therapists, aromatherapists and other wellness practitioners to volunteer their time and expertise on behalf of the UAE. The UAE has also put a call out for organizational expertise, donations and funding. With Retroactive 501©(3) Public Charity Approval and Under Section 170 of the code public charity status 170(b)(1)(a)(vi), all contributions to the UAE are tax deductible. Under section 2055, 2105 or 2522 tax deductibles include bequests, devises, transfers or gifts. With the possibility of more troops being sent over to Afghanistan our assistance becomes more critical with each passing day. The UAE recently received several letters from grateful soldiers on the ground in Afghanistan and Korea. These soldiers are thrilled with the improvement that the donated aromatherapy items have made for sleeping, breathing quality, colds, sinus problems and creating a more home like atmosphere. The United Aromatherapy Effort hopes its gifts can will continue to make life better for those who serve. Guest guest
THANKS Stacey, Jessica, and all of you- you guys are the best! Since 2001 you guys are the best for spreading the word and this would have never been possible! (Blessings for the internet, grateful and still amazed at the possibilities.) I have noted some corrections since this went out, one is that the c and the 3 should both have ( ) parenthesis in 501©(3) and as of last night, we want to change our term SOG to SG, to designate our Soldiers on the Ground (SG), thanks to our military advisor Butch (SOG also stands for special operations group in military) so off to fix that on the site! Geraldine says we now need spray bottles to make more sprays! Syl OMG now we need even more supplies, anyone have any plug in diffusors, or esp the type like febreeze noticibles? these are the best for container homes-let me know if you have sources on this, perhaps we could fundraise and buy some for all the new ones going over......at least if they will be in a base with elec.... Thanks, Syl! Just posted it as a note to my Facebook profile. :-) Hugs, Stacey
Guest guest
Including in a blogpost today, Syl. LOL . . . The (3) is something that's changed; for years it's been 501©3. Some bureaucrat obviously trying to revise and update things. :-) Most of Europe, and probably the middle east is on 220, the U.S. are one of the few on 110, so outlet plugs could be different. Be sure to find this out, or whether the guys have adapters so they can use the plug-ins that come from here. Guest guest
yes they have 110 because they use generators (i think) so they can use our plugs.....having already sent many of the ultrasonics (they LOVE the moisture), and some small pllug ins I had, thus looking for more now. I am also going to send the refurbed ultrasonics I have on hand here, might as well put them to use even though they are overkill in an 8x10 container, the moisture is very helpful.
