Guest guest
Hi, I guess I should introduce myself first! My passion is cold-processed soap, but have gotten into lotion sticks, lip balms, salts, and bath bomb also. I have a small company, do a few craft fairs, and have a few wholesale accounts. I try to keep my products as " natural " as possible, and only use essential oils and herbs for scent and natural things for color as well. I just couldn't pass up the chance to tell you about my experience with a YL dealer. It was at a craft show and this young lady came to my booth. She seemed to love my product and actually purchased some! Then she came back and began to give me the sales pitch. I was dealing with it, as it was a slow show and COLD, until she told me that she put these oils on her children(toddlers)! Straight, no dilution. At that point, I felt that I had to make an attempt to educate her about the dangers of that. (My husband was dying - he just wanted me to get rid of her!) We were discussing that when her dad came up to my booth with the worst skin irritation I have ever seen on his face! I asked about it and they had no explanation, but she said she had been using lavender on his temples for headaches. I told her that I thought I would stop that as he might have developed a sensitivity!!! He ended up purchasing one of my lotion sticks for it, against my recommendation, since it has lavender in it! I can only hope that it is a different strain and that it won't aggravate his situation any worse. It was truly sad. I wanted to start preaching to her that she could to that to her children too, but it was obvious that it was useless! They seem to be brainwashed! I have to say, some of their blends smell wonderful! Maybe that is how they hook these people. Jamie
Guest guest
WELL DONE EFFIE That took guts! A lot of people would have just kept on walking. Points of interest during my perusal 1. NOW sucks! My personal opinion, one which is shared by a lot of people! 2. For future reference, it's not Eucalyptus that one uses neat, it's Lavender and Tea Tree. I'm impressed by your courage! Cheers! I had to go to the GNC Health Food Store today in Mason City, IA. for some protein powder. I noticed some oils behind the cash register under the name of " NOW " . I have never heard of that brand but anyway, during the conversation, the clerk said there had been someone in from Minneapolis, MN (which is 2 hours north of here) and gave them a sales pitch on the YL oils and left a catalogue. I don't always (like never when something strikes a nerve) use finesse but say what comes to mind. In this case I told the clerk I wouldn't touch YL with a ten foot pole and it wasn't nothing but a scam. The sales person had put three different eo's on the clerk neat. So I told her, from what I have learned, that a person should never use eo's neat except Euc. and informed her of the ramifications of using oils neat and also about raindrop therapy. Anyway, the sales person had been back to pick up the catalogue and the manager told her they were not interested. I did tell the clerk where I get my oils, the testing, etc., and told her to go the Daltons (right there in the mall) and get a good book on AT and told her a couple of the ones that I have. Also told her I could get her more information on GY if she would like. My heart was going a hundred miles and hour when I got done and out of there. Guest guest
Hi Jeanine, Which url and by who ;)so many, Butch's? White Paper? Aromatic Sage? Sorenson's? Martin's? YooHoo! Kathleeeeeeennnn!!!! So many of us know that YL is spewing fraudulent claims about their oils.... It's odd I've been thinking about placing a page devoted to EO sellers that do not endorse use on cats and do not agree with YL's garbage on my site and then I come here and see your post.... YL claims their oils are such pure and therapeutic grade only their oils can be used on cats(Bovine Excrement-Butchinese). I've seen them promoting raindrop on cats with oils that have safety precautions for humans....Also claiming it is their unique distillation temperature, etc. such hogwash(Martinese). I'm putting thoughts together for an article for 2010 or if someone wants to write an article themselves about YL-b--------? Will be glad to donate a page on my site to author and article. The consumer needs to know that the Multi-level-marketing company is extolling fraudulent information and working on their down-line. And their overpriced oils they claim are that high price because of their way of processing their oils(BE). I'm sure many of you have seen the fraud! There is some new stuff but it's close enough that I can handle it. I will be getting it after xmas for sure, but will keep trying with the old program. Maybe something will pop. Guest guest
I have read with interest the White Paper and one other (forgive me I forgot the link...it discusses Young's background) on YLEOs. I would just like to say " thank you " to those who took the time to research this man and his company and practices. This has helped me very much as one of my classmates is a YLEO distributor and was pushing me in that direction when I expressed an interest in aromatherapy. I was very careful in picking out the school I attended for nutrition education because there are so many unaccredited schools teaching the most unfounded pseudoscience. I want to avoid the same problems in my aromatherapy education as well. It's not always easy to detect the frauds, at least not until allot of money has been wasted. I did have a good laugh at the quotes from Young--biochemistry isn't my strong point but COME ON, I mean, REALLY? As was said, even basic biology knowledge would highlight the errors. Anyway, I'm babbling. I just wanted to thank everyone for their efforts and help! Tina
