Guest guest
You can find a list of the hidden sugars in food at my site - http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art6429.asp. That way, since you are trying to avoid sugars, you won't be fooled by names like evaporated cane juice, maltodexrin, concentrated fruit juice, etc. Stay healthy, Moss Nutrition Host @ Bellaonline.com http://www.bellaonline.com/site/nutrition - Ieneke van Houten Sunday, January 11, 2004 1:22 AM carbs and arthritis Yvonne wrote: We are definitely watching the carbs too! Guest guest
Yes, I am hearing that more and more. About 5 years ago I found out that I am allergic to citrus (go figure, after 50 something years) and so no longer eat tomatoes or other citrus. I suppose it makes since that the arthritis is gone, after quitting the potatoes, as well as tomatoes!. I was on Vioxx for a long time for the knee pain. I love potatoes, but it just is not worth it!!! Thank Ien! Yvonne - Ieneke van Houten Sunday, January 11, 2004 1:22 AM carbs and arthritis Yvonne wrote: We are definitely watching the carbs too! I do have a question about potatoes. I have read that white potatoes should never be eaten but red potatoes dont contain the same toxins. If memory serves, this was even addressed by Edgar Cayce. I anyone familiar with this? Seer
Guest guest
Question: What's the rationale behind the ability ofpotatoes to cause joint pains in people with typeO blood? Answer: I don't know much about this blood type stuff, except that it exists and many people are suddenly in a snit over what they can and cannot eat. Just what we needed, more fear and confusion! I just read somewhere that many arthritic people are allergic to nightshade. I don't know the rationale, and frankly i don't care! It is one of those perfectly free to try things that won't harm you if it doesn't help. We often know THAT something works, long before we know WHY or HOW it works. After all, folks knew stuff falls down long before Newton formulated the laws of gravity. Guest guest
Just another bit of info on the carbs and arthritis thread... The night shade veggies are very high in acidity, therefore they can cause flare ups in arthritis and even cause joint pain for those who don't suffer from arthritis. Along of course with a host of other health challenges. With Cancer for example, all acidity should to be completely eliminated from the diet and a alkaline system is essential in healing. Guest guest
I don't understand the science behind potatoes causing joint pains. I got it from a man in my area who gives classes on Blood Type Diet and it has been true for me. You can probably get more information from Peter D'Adamo's books and/or his website http://www.dadamo.com. Google just came up unexpectedly. Maybe it wants me to suggest searching the Web. That's probably a good idea. Guest guest
I'm curious about the tie to type O blood. I don't know much except that it's not the carbs...it's a by-product of anything in the solanum family: potatoes, tomatoes and (big bummer for me), peppers (except for black pepper.) I have a hort background and was already aware of toxicity of plants in this family, so I wasn't surprised to read that ingestion of anything from this family could create arthritic problems. As it happens, I have type O blood...so I'd be curious where you heard of this tie. Linda > What's the rationale behind the ability of > potatoes to cause joint pains in people with type > O blood?
