Hello from another new member

Hello Everyone,

My name is Dianna. I live in a remote part of eastern Nevada. I am a 44 year old

single parent of two children, ages 17 and 6. My son (17) has a seizure disorder

that is currently remedied by the medication of Depakote. He also has ADHD,

which is currently remedied by the medication Guanfacine. Other than I endure a

very high clean tone of tinnitis, my daughter and I are healthy.

My concerns and the reason I have joined this group, are that in case of an

emergency where medication is not available. What are my options to keep my son

from going into grand mal seizures. I hope to learn from this group, and when I

have learned sufficiently, pass it forward.

I have searched sites such as Plants for a Future, indian herbal sites, and

native american herbal sites to learn all possible alternatives. I have emails

from Doctor Yourself and other alternative medicine, garden, and metaphysical

journals that provide some information that can be of some help.

So far, in my search, I have found that magnesium is considered one of the

foremost effective elements in preventing the occurence of seizures. And in such

I have found " Dill " to be one of the higher concentrated forms of magnesium.

Purple sage is an indian remedy for seizures as well. My son carries hematite

with him, as it is said to be beneficial for the nervous system. I have yet to

learn other forms of alternative medicine, or better implementations of current

knowledge, that could be of benefit to his situation and my concern for his

health and life.

Our family (raised in the meat and potatoes fashion) has moved mainly to

vegetarianism, with the inclusion of cheese, eggs, and poultry. I avoid

aspartame at all times, even in vitamins. And we eat mainly home made foods;

whereas, fast foods and store bought sweets are rare.

..

I hope to learn in this group, and when I can share as well. My hope is that

someday, I will never have to fear for my son's life should any disaster prevent

his medication from arriving month to month.
