Guest guest
Wow.. Heather you sound a lot like me. Kava Kava can really help with stress (just follow the directions correctly.. also be warned, the pill type has Soy if you're allergic to it).. I'll have to try those sleeping ideas, along with the ones that have already been suggested (re: No REM sleep)I was raped at 16 (currently 19) by my ex-bf who was already my ex-bf by that time. The best thing that could ever have happened to me was putting myself into a mental hospital a year later (from suicidal thoughts).. normally I don't like traditional techniques, but that saved my life. I've tried many things to get better sleep as I was already an insomniac.. but as for the anxiety, getting away from anything that reminds you of whatever happened can be helpful. I'm not a big fan of wasting what little money I have to talk to people, but therapy can be a good thing. It helps you sort through whatever's bothering you (which can lead to better sleeping).. also for a quick fix ( & that's exactly what this is), you could be put on anti-depressants to bring yourself out of it and then find something that isn't so "mainstream" to fix the real problems... that's about what I've done for the time being.so being as I'm in a house filled with people who think they'll try natural ways before anything else ( & I do mean they think it, they don't actually do it), I've decided to actually do natural ways of getting out of my health problems by way of suggestions & all my brothers books on alternative healing. Aromatically - some wonderful blends can be created with some of the following; Lavender, Chamomile, Palmarosa, Vanilla, Cedar, Sandalwood, and many others. I personally have found that Brainwave technology can be an amazing tool for sleep - see previous post Re: No Sleeping. Where the stress is concerned. First and foremost - as a supplement I Highly recommend Kava Kava - I have had amazing results with this especially if you can find a blend that is an instant spray to put under your tongue. The above aromas are also good for relaxation. As far as the main issue you suggest (PTSD). My personal experience has been highly successful in dealing with clients with many stress issues. From childhood abuse and other such traumas to social anxiety to panic attacks to every day stress. With all of these there are basic tools I used but of coarse it depends on the individual what the actual techniques may consist of. However the fastest, most noninvasive results I have had have been with Meridian Therapies. NLP has been successful as well and often times I will combine these techniques for better results. If you are looking to get help in trying to eliminate your disorder instead of some of the symptoms from it - perhaps I can suggest a Practitioner in your area that deals with Meridian Therapies. Guest guest
Dear Laura, All physical challenges originate within the spiritual self. This is why the sages throughout time have emphasized the significance of forgiving ourselves and then others. May I offer you the healing power of sound to interpenetrate your vibrational disharmonies and create shifts in consciousness to enable you to move to that place where the images and concepts associated with your traumatic event are no longer a predominant factor within your consciousness. There is a word I learned many years ago which serves as a polarizing factor within which my attention is less likely to wander to non survival experiences in my life. The word is HU, sung on the out breath as HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU. The Sufis consider it a love song to God. It is imbedded within the Christian Alleluia as well as the Muslim Allah Hu Allah. I trust that my offer to you neither encroaches on your beingness nor communicates any lack of compassion for the invasive experience which served to challenge you and no doubt has reconfigured the way in which you view life. There is profound reason for each of us discovering the blessing even within the most horrible experience. Herein lies our freedom form it so that the other is no longer governing the movement of our attention. Pain in any arena of our life is merely the forcible movement of our attention from that upon which we desire to place it. As we regain our governance of our own attention, pain dissipates and our natural creative interchange with life begins anew.
