Guest guest
You might want to look into how you breathe. Chronic hyperventilation (breathing too fast for the circumstances you are in) can create a great deal of anxiety. You can learn more about this subject on my website at: http://www.authentic-breathing.com , Jethro Bodinejr <bodineian> wrote: > > > > > > Am attempting to rid myself of as much medication > > as possible, can > > > someone suggest a good homeopathic sub for > > anxiety. Guest guest
Dear Deb, Dr SABrown and other folks who have answered, all with many helpful suggestions, I agree that `within' is where we ultimately find the answer to our challenges. And that we need to take responsibility for our own selves. However, in my experience, there are many stepping stones that can help us on our way. To reach the other side of the river that is deep, wide and often very fast flowing, may feel impossible if we are unable to swim, or can swim but poorly. Much better to take small, achievable steps and rest awhile for consolidation .... before the next stage of development. If having a less invasive treatment is part of that progression, then I see that as a viable, and sustainable, step forward. In withdrawing medications, reducing the dose gradually over a period is the usual practice. Rather than going `cold turkey' with more likelihood of relapse. We expect babies to first hold up their heads, sit, crawl, walk, all with encouragement from a caring helper along the way, until they are able to walk unaided. The marathon comes later, much later! So using other complementary (perhaps a better word than `alternative' sometimes?) therapies and consulting experienced therapists as guides can be seen as aids during the self development process. Until one can stand alone. I can remember, many moons ago, when a student was sitting in during a session of therapy I was receiving. I was distraught and said `Oh! How long does it take?!' She answered `It depends where you start from !' I can remember feeling aghast - but how true! Also there are many healing properties in the substances all around us. Mankind and animals have always sought them out. They may correct a nutritional deficiency, a chemical imbalance or an energy imbalance, such that the individual can then function better and be able to choose in which direction, and using which tools and practices they need to achieve harmony and balance in their lives. And then onwards to achieve their potential. So Deb may I suggest you use whichever of the recommendations on the list that struck a chord with you (or none of these if they didn't 'feel' right for you!). That will be your next stepping stone. Take your time. And most of all love and accept yourself. With warm regards BB (in UK) I work with energy medicine - homeopathy, flower essences, herbs and whatever else the universe provides along the way! , " DrSABrown " <DrSABrown@a...> wrote: > Dear Deb, > > You configured your question as if homeopathics much like allopathic drugs > are a band aid which one simply places upon a problem of spiritual, mental > and emotional origin. Guest guest
Andrew, Stephen and Deb and all I am bathing in a warm glow of good connections being made. The truths that I am currently learning .... ..........Self reflection and 'Mistakes' Addressing what I see as my `mistakes'. I feel that we learn more from our mistakes than our successes! Review the situation, bring unconscious actions into consciousness, see how a more preferred outcome could be achieved and attempt to instigate the change of response required. Well on a good day anyway! ..........Choices That in each moment I have a choice of how I respond to a particular situation. Just because last time such and such happened, it CAN be different this time. It is so much easier to respond in the old, usual way. Harder, but more rewarding, to stop, take a breath ... Over time the new behaviour can become easy and unconscious. ..........Creativity and fun Possibly the most important truth for me is actually very simple and great fun! Perhaps the best solutions always are? It has been to take up a creative, expressive hobby that I have been meaning to `get round to' for a long time. It feels that a deep part of my spirit is satisfied, content, in a way that no other activity could match. Interestingly, Stephen, rhythm becoming `unconscious' is involved! ......... Love Oh and to love and accept MYSELF ) ..........Homeopathy In my experience this is where homeopathic remedies, by using the principle of `like with like' can bring an issue to awareness. Then change can happen. It is possible to leap several stepping stones, to leave behind that which no longer serves a useful purpose. To remove negative feelings about myself. If I don't know I am doing something it is hard to stop! I do self prescribe. But when I talk to another they can pick up on my language (eg I didn't realize that I used to apologize all the time, even for things where there was no fault whatsoever….), my body language, tone of voice etc. I admit a personal interest - discovering homeopathy helped me literally turn my life around. Guest guest
Many thanks Deb for giving me the opportunity to express myself. Must be the next thing on my agenda as I have just been asked to do another talk to a local group ..... Also (see reply to Stephen)perhaps you can find an activity for you? That you will enjoy so much that there is no room for anxiety. Perhaps look back to when you were a child. What gave you great pleasure? It isn't selfish to take time to enjoy yourself. It is an absolute necessity! warm regards BB , " Deb " <dmhummel@w...> wrote: > Thanks one and all for the suggestions on anxiety...
