Guest guest
Hi, I have serious asthma and the constant struggle to breathe and rid myself of congestion has caused a tremendous weight loss. I need to gain 30 lbs. I'm not a big eater; that is, I eat small amounts which make me feel full. I have to drink a lot of water with each meal so as to help me swallow (a problem). Anyway, I don't eat meat or sweets, and breads only once or twice a week, so I'm not racking up a lot of calories with what's left to eat. After trying several weight-lifter formulas for weight gain, (no soy), I found one that will give me the largest amount of calories for even just a 1/2 serving (since the full serving is way too much liquid at one time for me). What puzzles me, however, I become very lethargic and sleepy after drinking the product. It makes me feel so over-stuffed, I have to actually kick-back for at least half an hour. This particular product is high protein and low fat. I've tried the high protein, high fat and feel the same, and they all taste terribly chauky and are way too sweet. Your opinions are appreciated. Guest guest
I don't have much experience with powders, but am somewhat familiar with the powder called Absorb Plus which is developed by Jini Patel who wrote a book called " Listen to your Gut " . You'll find this product online with a search. It's designed to cause weight gain for people who suffer from illnesses such as colitis, Crohn's, etc. The ingredients are meant to be able to supplement meals fully for someone unable to eat due to health problems. It's not meant to be a protein drink or high fat low carb or low carb high fat........just a complete food with all the important ingredients. Hope this helps, Suzan --- Merlynn Starr <illumined wrote: > Hi, > I have serious asthma and the constant struggle > to breathe and rid > myself of congestion has caused a tremendous > weight loss. Guest guest
Contact your doc for the function of salivary glands. After meals lie down with your feet up by about a foot or two and check the difference.Unless the calorie requirement is met, protein will be used to fuel the body's energy requirement. Try nuts as they are high in calories and the oil is good. Oily sea fish is also good. Try digestive enzymes. , " Merlynn Starr " <illumined@w...> wrote: > Hi, > I have serious asthma and the constant struggle to breathe and rid > myself of congestion has caused a tremendous weight loss.
