Guest guest
By now I have gone over the basics of this argument so many times and on so many groups I am getting tired of preaching about the pharmaceutical industry lierally making a killing off of pseudoscience of cholesterol and fatty acid metabolism. It is not that I am more educated than anyone else but I know they are not telling us all that is known or all that should be talked about and investigated.Remember first that cholesterol is one of the main antioxidants produced by the body and that the relationship between levels of essential and non-essential fatty acids as well as combinations of proteins and fatty acids maybe what we should be researching, discussing and understanding before anything else.It is not as simple as the makers of cholesterol lowering drugs would have you to think.Same for the makers of 2000$ a shot Procrit, despite the television ads. Many medicines are pushed, protocols and programs preached because of the money generating potential of a particular therapy. It takes alot of coronary arteriograms to pay for a Cat scan or heart-lung machine. How many times to you see in the obituaries the statement that someone dies while being treated for cancer. No,what you always see is that someone " dies " from cancer. The only way this will be changed is when part of the money raised by charity and other so called non-profit organizations donate a certain percentage of what they raise to legitimate, out of the mainstream alternative practioneers. The least that should be done is for us alternative practioneers to be able to receive insurance and medicare payments. Then you would find people seeking out the things that really work, without major sideffects and not be forced into programs that are self serving, money making pseudoscience propaganda, backed and pushed by pharmaceutical companies. , Sarah <seraphimtoo@c...> wrote: > Funny, I didn't see any selling out, just a caution for awareness that > women need to know about what we need to change in our life to avoid > heart disease.
