Guest guest
Bios Life 2® Gets International Press Coverage Results from recent Bios Life 2 study gains worldwide attention. A study carried out by Unicity and presented at the 45th Annual Conference on Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology and Prevention of the American Heart Association this past week in Washington, DC by Dr. Peter Verdegem, Unicity's Chief Scientific Officer, has received international press coverage this past week. The study indicated that Bios Life 2 has a dual effect on cholesterol levels in type-2 diabetes patients, lowering levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol and increasing HDL (good) cholesterol. Dr. Verdegem reports, " The remarkable observation is that this (the results of taking Bios Life 2) works on two sides: it decreased LDL and increased HDL by significant amounts at 90 days. This approach is virtually free of side effects. It opens up an alternative treatment option. " The American Diabetes Association has already accepted this study, and Dr. Verdegem will present the data to the medical community at the 65th Scientific Sessions of the ADA to be held in San Diego, CA. Click here for more information on this study. Participants in the study-78 people with type-2 diabetes, who averaged 59 years of age- received two or three 5g doses of Bios Life 2 per day before mealtimes. Their total blood cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL were measured at the start of the study and again after 90 days. By the end of the study, total cholesterol had fallen from 215 mg/dL to 184 mg/dL, a 14.4 percent decrease. Triglycerides decreased from 299 mg/dL to 257 mg/dL (14 percent). LDL decreased from 129 mg/dL to 92 mg/dL (28.7 percent). HDL increased from 43 mg/dL to 55 mg/dL, up 21.8 percent. Diabetes is the fourth main cause of death in most developed countries. It affects 18.2 million Americans, according to the American Diabetes Association-that's 6.3 percent of the population. 5.2 million of these are unaware that they have the disease. In addition to the dramatically increased risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes can also lead to blindness, renal disease, nervous system disease, and complications during pregnancy.
