I have always wanted to touch base with people who have some experience with this strategy and would love to hear from others on it. I know she has claimed to totally clear the Neuropathy this way. Guest guest
Hi Diane! Check the archives, we hashed this out at considerable length on about February 19, 20 or so, some 18 posts, maybe more. I started the thread on behalf of a number of my patients. Nothing worked, though. Some in the allopathic community believe there is no cure for this. There is help available, and it is closely linked to diet and lifestyle. We have some family members who suffer with this so I have more than a remote concept of how it can be managed. Allopathic medicine offers no hope other than exercise. Exercise is very important, I am not at all minimizing the benefits of exercise, however I am also aware that this is a very painful affliction and at times it becomes so painful that one cannot exercise at all. This necessitates more closely monitoring of the diet along with the use of proper supplements as well. As you probably know, the United States has more problems with blood sugar control than any other country on earth. I believe that this is primarily due to availability and prevalence of sugar coated snacks.Unfortunately, with-holding refined sugar is commonly viewed as *deprivation* in our culture. We must set our priorities high, if we wish to establish more stable blood sugar control. Pasteurized honey and pasteurized orange juice is just as problematic because they also tend to elevate glucose levels out of control! There have been studies carried out to prove it. Why allopathic medicine still advocates it is fine for diabetics to eat refined sugar is beyond comprehension! Our blood sugar monitors prove otherwise! There are many other more healthy sweeteners available around the world although they are not widely available in the U.S. Stevia, in my opinion is the most viable alternative. It is currently regulated as a *dietary supplement* (thanks to Monsanto, the makers of Aspartame) which really leaves most Americans in the dark regarding its use as a healthy sweetener! We use stevia (one packet is all you need) to sweeten (organic) oatmeal and add a banana or a handful of raisins to the mix which is served with freshly prepared powdered goat milk (www.meyenberg.com). For the stevia, NOW foods is a good company which offers your choice of several forms. www.NOWfoods.com Goat milk is beneficial for neuropathy and leg pain. The pain dissipates with the elimination of Dairy foods (lactose which is a type of sugar), and substitution of non-gmo soy milk and/or goat milk. This is not surprising. It is a well known fact that Dairy is high in FAT and SUGAR, and this is true of organic varieties as well. The essential fatty acids are beneficial, along with copious amounts of extra virgin olive oil and Udo's oils. www.udoerasmus.com I must say that in our family, all the neuropathy problems surfaced immediately after using the deadly diabetic medications. (Read the labels, it LISTS it right there as a common side effect!) The primary contraindication is likely to be " arterial blockages " leading to HEART ATTACK (myocardial infarction. I am convinced that the use of these drugs led up to Neuropathy,... since getting off the medications (glyburide and metformin)there hasn't been a single solitary problem in these areas! Before I list all the supplements for you, I would like to indicate that the pain was so severe that there were several visits to the ER and initally he was taking maximum dosages of Vicodin, which if you're aware, is one of the strongest pain medications available to man. I shudder to think of this, for as you may know, I absolutely abhore taking pain killers. His liver was so devastated from the vicodin that we had to supplement generously with milk thistle in order to protect his liver and reverse the damage! The supplements for Neuropathy are as follows: Standard Process: Ligaplex Vitanox Myotrophin PMG E with Selenium Diabetes: Some of these were Natures Herbs Others were NOW brands There are many excellent brands available. Bitter Melon Fenugreek GTC Chromium B-complex Potassium Magnesium (600 mgs in divided doses) Gymnema Evening Primrose or Black currant for GLA content As for the diabetic diet, it is beneficial to include more cruciferous vegetables, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower and organic whole grains. Any meats should be of an organic or free range variety. The vegetables should only be lightly simmered as in soups, stews.etc, Also the best way is eliminating all overly ripened, overly sweet fruits. Pink grapefruit and granny smith apples are the least problematic in my opinion. Also including more fiber in the diet, in the form of dried beans, legumes and lentils, oat bran and rice bran, walnuts and other raw nuts is very very. helpful! Nuts are rich in chromium which help control sugar levels. That's all I can think of at the moment. There are many articles written out there on this subject, however because this was our personal experience I thought it might prove to be more helpful. God Bless! JoAnn P.S. Aspartame in ANY form is linked to Diabetic Neuorpathy and worsening of sugar levels, whether it be Equal or Nutrasweet, Diet pop or food with aspartame! The Methanol in Aspartame actually worsens diabetes and CAUSES weight gain and furthermore it leads to dysfunctional metabolization of glucose! I could just go on and on with this topic, however, unfortunately, time does not permit, but I've tried to include the basics. _________________ JoAnn Guest mrsjoguest DietaryTipsForHBP http://www.geocities.com/mrsjoguest
Guest guest
For the last 6 years I have suffered from diabetic neuropathy in my feet and lower legs. I have been taking Neurotonin with some success. The drug brings partial pain relief, some days better than others. I would like any info members may have regarding this condition. I have found one product that brings relief when the pain is severe and the medicine doesn't seem to work. If you suffer from this type of pain, you might want to try this product. email me at flowerchild_71901 for info on this great product. And please advise me if you have found any natural alternative for my problem.
