Guest guest
One of my favourite phrases EVERYTHING IN MODERATION, Including moderation. What's the point of restricting your diet to fish and coconuts just because some group of islanders live very old eating this way, I believe your body is best adapted to processing the foods that it has evolved with, before looking at what type of exotic diet is best for you ,you may wish to look a little into the family tree. you may find a staple food for generations of people is now missing from your own diet due to location or other reasons. who knows ,fish and coconuts may be missing from your diet. for this reason I believe that if your ancestors had nothing to do with soy, then the chances of you efficiently processing bucket loads of it is pretty slim.A little cant hurt, and then your kids can eat a little more and on and on and some day a family member of the future will have the ability to process bucket loads of it. I eat a little of it Tom Jennie [silvermist2]Monday, 3 September 2001 07:48herbal remedies Subject: Re: [herbal remedies] RE: to soy or not to soyGood! you have been made aware that there *may* be a problem. Guest guest
I don't eat meat of any kind, (fish, poultry, beef, pork, etc.) so I do eat soy products several times a week. I have a slight hypothyroid condition, BUT, the TSH was higher before I had eaten any soy at all. I, too, have heard that eating excessive amounts of soy can deplete minerals, so since learning of that potential side effect, I have been diligent in taking my vitamins/minerals. I agree, also, that excess of anything isn't good for you. Take care, Renee
