I have some Serenoa repens (Saw palmetto) 1:4 45% alcohol tincture

which I want my husband to take for his enlarged prostate. However he

refuses to because it tastes decidedly soapy when diluted in water. I

have had it in for over a year in a cool place. Should it taste like

this or has it gone off?? Has anyone got any out there they could

taste and test for me please??

Regards,

Rochelle

Dear Rochelle,

That is the signature for Saw Palmetto. The higher the quality, the soapier it tastes.

Good stuff, get it down him.

Love,

Dear Doc,

Thanks for that but you should have seen his face when I read out

your reply!!! It was a picture!! To shut him up I am going to order

some more from a small company that only uses organic tinctures and

says that this particular product is " decocted " . I have tasted their

products before and have to admit that they do tend to taste better

than the usual ones I buy!! If I can ever get him to take it how much

do you suggest? I was thinking in terms of 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) twice

a day as there is no way he will take anything 3x a day!!

He has been diagnosed as having a rather enlarged prostate which

causes stopping and starting during urination particularly in the

morning. However he doesn't have to get up in the night. According to

the Doctor it has become a lot larger. Husband has more sense than to

get it operated on!!!

All the very best,

Rochelle

Rochelle,

The tinctures that taste good and not like they should taste most likely

have no herb in them! Use the good stuff now and let him suffer through the

taste or tell him to let the doctors butcher him up now. It is his choice

nasty tincture to heal or no more sex.

God Bless,

Jamie
