DEEP CUTS

Good Evening,

I am desperate for help!! I left to go out of town on Thursday and left my boxer pups ears taped thinking my husband would take care of her. Well he didn't!! I got home tonight and her ears look AWFUL! The tape cut into the base of the ear and smells as if it is infected. It might not seem like a big problem but the way they look it is. I cleaned them off really good with peroxide and put an antibiotic cream on them. I also started her on antibiotic pills. She keeps scratching at them and making them bleed. I need to know if I should cover this up or if I should leave it open and any other opinions on what to do. I feel like such a bad mommy!! Please help!

Vetrinarians have these special plastic collars for dogs to keep them from

doing that. They look really stupid but in this case it's necessary.

Also when the antibiotic cream wears off, get some ointment with Golden Seal

in it. One such product is called " Turtle Island Shotgun Ointment " , and is

available at many health food stores.

Thanks so much. Unfortunately the e-collar won't work. I bought one of

these a few weeks ago to try to keep her from getting the wrap off of her

ears to begin with. I let her out to go potty and not 5 minutes later the

collar was ripped up. I will look into the ointment you suggested...thanks

so much!!
