Guest guest
Hi Melinda... Well, what I use now since I am better and what I did before when I was soooo chemically sensitive and CFS impaired- I could barely tolerate anything is a different story. I still am more the extreme so I use what I can tolerate obviously which is not a wide array of products. I use Shaklee Basic H to clean my bedroom/bath area where I just can't tolerate anything else I've tried for that part of my world. Do not use vinegar to clean in the house. I learned the hard way that people that are mold sensitive react to vinegar. Shaklee makes a lot of products BUT the Basic H is the way to go when your immune system is compromised if it agrees with you.. Make sure it's the "H" and not one of the other formations. It's concentrated so you would dilute it..also has many uses. Seventh Generation products... 1-800-575-8016.. I have also had great success with.. I do very well with their line of cleaners,.from their dish detergent (free and clear) to their glass and surface cleaner... and bathroom cleaner. Both have a mild citrus scent which evaporates quickly for me. The other main line of products I now use is called "Granny's" which is sold in some health food stores. I usually purchase it from a catalog I have from the American Environmental Health Foundation # 1-800-428-2343. I use their concentrated liquid laundry detergent (unscented)... and their hair and body products..also unscented.. I use a bar soap from Tom's of Maine called Natural Moisturizing Soap.. (unscented). My friend who I mentioned here a couple of times has just started cleaning up his act and is using baking soda to wash his bedding (as I do) and the Granny's Liquid Laundry for the rest of his clothes. He was suffering some nasty rashes.. neurocognitive impairment.... some form of muscular degeneration and a host of other problems...including breathing difficulties. He reports to me that he can finally sleep again since he has changed his products.. he generally feels better.. has more stamina and all in all feels more hopeful for recovery. If I only knew all this information years ago before my fragrance sensitivities became obvious (when I only exhibited CFS symptoms).. perhaps I would not have gotten quite so ill. That is why this is such a passionate issue for me. Docs that prescribe pain meds.. antidepressants and so on.. are just helping to contribute to disease...by not treating the CAUSE of disease.. just clogging up your system with more chemicals that you already can't tolerate. What goes on outside your body (your environment) is as important as what goes in. Maybe I should write a book. Feel good.. Beth I enjoyed your post. Could you tell more specifics about what safe products you use, please? Thanks, Melinda
