breastfeeding and intestinal cleanse

Does anyone know of a good refernce for what is safe for taking during BF?

I want to do the cleansing now that I'm not prego but can't find good

information on whether those herbs are safe.

I've heard you should never do a cleanse while BFing because the toxins will come out in your milk to your baby but if this is just for the bowels it should be ok? I've never done a cleansing other than using gentle cleansing herbs so I am sure I am full of toxins considering my bad eating background from being formula feed on up.

I see you are referring to the IC#1 formula, and I apologize for not picking up on that.

The only herb in this formula which could be contraindicated to breast feeding would be the Wormwood. In some women it might not create a problem, in others it might. In a patient I was working with personally, I'd be tempted to test this and to observe reactions in the baby directly. If the baby had parasites, then some good could come of it. To use the formula as-is, for a test run would do NO lasting damage to the baby, but if there was one negative reaction, I'd knock it off instanter.

To be 100% safe, you could just leave the wormwood out of the formula, and still get the anti-parasite benefits of the Black Walnut Hulls and the Garlic which is also in the formula.

The Intestinal Cleanse #2 Formula would be TOTALLY safe for the baby and would ensure that your own detox was not affecting the baby at all.

For you, I would advise, taking the IC#1 (without the wormwood), and as soon as you discovered your dosage, jump right into the IC#2 Formula rather than waiting the week. This would ensure that your baby was getting none of the toxins being released in your body.
