(For those of you who don't know what WTF? means, I will do you a favor

and *not* translate it for you. It's a techie-term of general confoundment.)

Man, I've been hitting you guys left and right lately, haven't I? Well,

hopefully I can be muy helpful sometime in the future and repay you all;

in the meantime I *SWEAR* I'll make this short.

Yesterday I noticed a [bigger than a pencil eraser, smaller than a

marble]-sized lump under the skin of the back of my neck. It's hard,

spherical and smooth and moves around slightly. It doesn't hurt and you

can't see it on the surface. I'm pretty sure it showed up quickly, in a

day or two at most; 'cause it's pretty big and I'd have noticed it!

The only thing I've been doing different lately that I can think might

have affected this is, I've been doing Doc's garlic-slab cure on a

skin-taggy thing I have on the back of my neck, on the other side, about

3 1/2 inches away from the lump. But I've used garlic before, and I've

certainly never had an adverse reaction to it--I routinely eat cloves of

it when I get a cold (and it cures them!).

*sigh* Anybody who can tell me what this might be and if I should be

worried, thanks a lot!

(What a week!)

No problem for me with your many mails *smile*.

Maybe it is a fat-cyst, the lump you have got? I know they show up

fast and are hard. A friend of me got one on her lower back. It was

small and hard, and irritated the nerves in spine. So she had to

remove it.

Some get those on hand wrist, on the tendons. Would be a good idea to

check it, to be sure...

About the light-colour-therapy. I dont know why it work. But I know

Greece used this therapy 2000 years ago. They had roofs with

different colours. And they sent their patients up to the roof. And

the patients relaxed on the roof in the sun :-)

Colours are different frequences, and I guess it works through

frequences. Same with sound (music) and so on...

You know...we do produce d-vitamin by giving our skin some sun.

Shouldnt surprise me if they in future find that skin do produce

other things when it get specific colours on it...

Hmm..

Hi Sara,

I've got one of those too, same place. It's been there for years

and hasn't caused any problems. It's about the size of a bee-bee.

Do you by any chance have any vague memories of alien abductions?

<LOL!>

Seriously, you might want to get it checked out just for safety and

peace of mind. Come to think of it, I never got mine checked out.

I just forgot about it. I had to probe for it when I read your post.

Note that Northern cultures developed the original practice of nudism. It

is very important for people in those climates to get lots of sun when the

opportunity arises, which is not all that often.

Color therapy has not been adequately researched in this era, probably

because it won't make any money for pharmaceutical companies. I do know of

some color research practice, and also know that its proponents were

mercilessly harrassed in America. Check out any information you can find on

a guy named Dinshah Ghadiali. He was an Iranian immigrant to the USA who

practiced in the 1930s and wrote a lot of good material, some of which is

now in public domain and can be reprinted or posted by anyone. There is

also a foundation in New Jersey, at least as of 1997, based on his work.

I once met a doctor from Alaska who was getting very good results with

specific color therapy practices, but he literally had to go underground

because of trouble with the medical association. If you want, i could write

up a description of his methods to the list.b

As for ancient Greece, a lot of the information about their practices is

still speculative. We have no way of knowing how effective their treatments

were. All we know is that in general, the average life span at that time

and place was hovering below 40. Not a good testimonial at all.

Thanks Mel. I actually found a potential cure for this, if it is some

sort of cyst--I found out that you can use a castor-oil compress (warm

castor oil, soak a piece of felt in it, apply, wrap w/ plastic wrap and

leave over night) to get rid of cysts. Has anybody ever tried this? I

just so happen to have castor oil and flannel, so I was gonna give it a

shot. The area around the WTF? bump is a touch tender this morning; I

think it got slightly bigger.

Thanks all,

ST

P.S. I don't want to seem like I don't want to go to a doctor, but I

don't. For one thing, I can't afford it. My surgery and all the

follow-up appts I've been to have eaten a lot of my HMO-provided money

away, and though I'd really like to go see an ND, I know my insurance

won't cover it, so I'd wanna make it for something worthwhile!

Everything I can fix on my own, I will! That, and I don't have a

'regular' family doctor; every one I've ever gone to I've hated, so if I

go see a regular MD again I have to find one from scratch--bleah.

Hey Michael:

I find this color subject fascinating. I'd love to see any information

you've got on it--if you don't think the list would appreciate it or it's

too long, feel free to email me personally. And thanks!!
