Guest guest
Viral mouthwash may curb precancerous mouth lesions FRANKFURT (Reuters Health) - A mouthwash that contains a modified respiratory virus known as ONYX-015 may help prevent precancerous mouth lesions from becoming cancerous, US researchers said at a cancer therapeutics conference here on Thursday. They reported the results from a small study of 22 patients. " This treatment prevented progression in one-third of the patients in the study, " said investigator Dr. Ezra E. W. Cohen, an instructor in medical oncology at the University of Chicago, Illinois. " The changes were obvious clinically, the biopsies were normalised. " Cohen told Reuters Health the treatment was well tolerated and that few toxicities developed during the study. However, future studies will need to determine the amount of time that treatment should continue. In the current research, patients' lesions worsened when treatment was discontinued. +++++++++++++++++++++ Don't miss out - get your free sample copy of The Holistic Dental Digest PLUS = information you're not likely to get elsewhere -- by replying to jmittelman with your PO Box or street address.
