Political Action

 

This is the lynchpin of the AHAA.

 

Other groups and occupations have set out to pick apart the various aspects of

what we wish to call the Ancient Healing Arts. They are attempting to claim

various parts of the whole as their sole province, and annex it to their

control. We believe that " The sum of the whole IS greater than the sum of the

parts " and these artificial distinctions and unnecessary regulations are

fragmenting our occupations and reducing our options that can be lawfully

practiced and our clients' right to choose.

 

There are several organizations that come to mind who are all too active in this

regard. Coincidentally, they all share three initials in common. They might even

have the same tactician.

 

See if this sounds familiar: The AVMA (American Veterinary Medicine Association)

came out with " proposed guidelines " in 1999, then, despite thousands of

objections, 'passed' them as written and proceeded to present them as a mandate

to all of the states. Here is an effective argument against their resulting

proposed bill, that worked to stop it in Pennsylvania.

 

Now they have re-introduced their NEW proposed 'guidelines' that are even more

onerous than the last! We are spearheading a letter campaign and ask that you

send us a copy at healers so we can present ALL of your

objections to them in person (with the press present) and make sure that none

get 'lost', or overlooked. If we keep a united front, we can stop this in its

tracks. To examine this assault upon the freedom of everyone who loves animals,

 

 

Research has shown that massage causes no harms. Spend some time here to

bookmark this site showing overwhelming evidence that the regulation of massage

therapy is not needed to protect the public from harm.

 

FIVE HUNDRED classroom hours protects the public from what? Experience shows

that massage laws do NOT stop prostitution.

 

The AHAA wishes to represent those of us that feel the same way. Freedom of

choice in healthcare is becoming limited to the client's choice of:

1. Generic pharmaceuticals.

2. Expensive top shelf drugs.

3. Which surgery will be paid for?

 

That said, there seems to be no OTHER organization developing, or in place that

is dedicated to keeping our calling " free " for the next generations. The AHAA is

dedicated to filling that void. By serving as a vehicle to join ALL of you who

share the same feelings, we can become what Greenpeace was to the Whales,

Costeau was for the oceans, and Woodstock was for concerts.

 

We believe that there is no need for these burdensome regulations without proof

of compelling need. It is a plan for no good reasons. We believe that the

holistic arts should remain free to develop in its own path, and not have to fit

into any preconceived model, or even a medical model. How do you separate us

into mind-body-spirit-emotions? That concept is not even in keeping with

holistic.

 

How can they regulate common sense?

 

This next part depends on your individual support. We have taken the first step.

If you are interested in making a change for the better, walk with us, we

welcome your participation. We can't take the next step without all of you who

agree with this concept. We sincerely hope it is not too late to stop this

trend. We wish to get the best representation that money can buy, and in turn,

represent with one voice all of the practitioners who will be affected by these

bills. We will be happy to take contributions, if you feel compelled to send

them, so we can get rolling even sooner. It would seem that we don't have much

time.
