Guest guest
Morning Frank, >Diarrea isn't actually a disease to be cured. >There can be many causes for diarrea, I suggest that you look for the >cause. I agree with everything you said. I am amazed at the number of people who now have digestion problems. Often I eat combinations of foods that are relatively strange. Yesterday for breakfast, I had raw turnips, raw peanuts and raisins. Anything to avoid the bad foods. At times I think what we don't eat may be as important as what we eat. Over the years, I have diarrhea only a few times, never long term. Once years ago, I did in fact have diarrhea and was on the road at the time. Being somewhat irrational on food selection, I told myself, ....... I am going to stop this stuff. I stopped at the first roadside fruit stand and got a large bag of raw peanuts and a bag of apples. I started eating these items continuously during the day. Yes, the diarrhea stopped, almost immediately. Usually I will drink a quart or two of buttermilk. I just started a new probiotic product a few days ago. In some cases, I think the only thing wrong is bacteria imbalance in the gut. Guest guest
Hi Wayne, Yes, I also am amazed by all of the digestion problems today. I believe that a lot of the problems are caused by side effects from many pharmacuetical drugs that cause actual damage. As for the probiotic, they are good but I found them expensive and somewhat limited as a replacement for good bacteria. I see them more, as another refined form of a natural food. I am a big fan of homemade Kefir. The average homemade kefir has about 100 different good bacterias and yeasts in it. I consider it the Rolls Royce of probiotics. When a lot of people have some bad bacterias in the intestinal tract, alot of the time they also have some bad yeasts, which can sometimes be worse as they can eventually travel to other parts of the body, and can also change forms. A daily helping of kefir is hundreds of times the amount one would expect to get in a pill type probiotic and it would have many more strains and types of good bacterias and yeasts to implant. And all for the price of milk. Plus, that it is so easy to make, and the pro biotic, active parts are always fresh, plentifull and active. Probably mix real well with all of those raw turnips, etc. For anyone in the group who is interested in learning about kefir, there are a couple of kefir links on our links page. Wayne, For good health, you might eat a breakfast higher in protein. Jerry Mittelman, DDS, FAPM

If we were all as blessed as you are with a giant garden, we'd all be eating strange things for breakfast, too. Hmm, now who is it that eats raw eggs for breakfast? Was that you or Lorenzo? Anyway, to keep this on topic, I'd always heard that diarrhea was caused by dehydration, and assumed the cure was to drink more water. Or would that only make things worse? Guest guest
Evening Mindy, >Wayne, your food combinations always make me laugh. If we were all as >blessed as you are with a giant garden, we'd all be eating strange things >for breakfast, too. If I get no complaints such as pains, nausea, ect, I deduct the combination is ok. Typically, after eating, I never know I have eaten anything. I think this is ideal. Those raw turnips are delicious. I like to eat something fresh and raw every day. >Hmm, now who is it that eats raw eggs for breakfast? Was that you or Lorenzo? I do that. But they are blended with some good tasting stuff. Dr. Mercola says he can now eat them right out of the shell. I have been thinking of trying it. It does take some mental conditioning. The other day, I thought of tossing some raw liver in the blender with the raw eggs and other stuff. As Lorenzo and others tell us, if we were primitive man, we would not be so particular about what we eat. Often eating is a necessary evil. I have brainwashed myself to the point that most foods I used to like, no longer exist. I plan to write an article one day, " Why we Eat " ? There are many reasons, but few of them are justified.
