Guest guest
Evening Jerry, > For good health, you might eat a breakfast higher in protein. > Jerry Mittelman, DDS, FAPM That is a good thought for sure. Some days I do eat a protein breakfast. Typically, I get two to 4 raw eggs per day, plus a protein drink. Even though I have studied nutrition for 40 years, I still become confused at times. One of my trusted doctors said the only things that would make us live longer was to..... Eat less food ( I try to do that ) Eat less Protein My idea from years back is one gram for each two pounds of body weight. I realize this depends on activity and overall body effieciency. Seems the other thing was to sweat like the devil. I might be wrong on this one. I would include sunshine and water and a moderate amount of exercise. Of course if one " sweats like the devil " , he must be working or exercising a bit. I have a number of body builder friends that are really going overboard on protein. They are getting from 200 to 300 grams per day. My body weight has been very stable for the last five or six months. My digestion seems to be very good. At my age, 64.5, I worry that I could overwork something, maybe the liver, with too much protein. Would a blood analysis or some test verify that the protein is adequate?
