Guest guest
Lisa, I'm not sure about the soy, but since your concern is the prevention of colon cancer, one of your priorities (IMO) should be to maintain a healthy intestinal flora. I read into your post, that some foods may be causing you gas, so I suspect that there may be some bacterial imbalance. My focus has been on CFS/FMS but in studying this and finding the need for healthy gut flora for this condition, I talked with a Dr. that said that there was a correlation to colon cancer and an alkaline colon. The good bacteria in the colon help keep the environment slightly acidic. In other articles I've read online there appears to be a connection between calcium absorption and an acidic colon (not sure if this is true). I have read elsewhere that calcium is good for prevention of colon cancer. Anyway, thought I'd share this with you. My parting thoughts on soy. The asian cultures that use soybeans heavily use it after it has been fermented. From some of the things I've read (not scientific articles) I don't eat the stuff. The program that I've put together for CFS/FMS I believe has universal application for many chronic conditions and would be ideal for maintaining ones health. Eating a quarter cup of organic soybeans a day cleans out my system with out any gas . This is so much easier for me than to remember to sprinkle this bran and that bran on my food. > Im not saying im for soy... i avoid soy that is not in a soybean.. the milk etc etc etc... > But what i am saying is do you really think a quarter of a cup is going to give me cancer? > I am just so tired... i have tried and tried to eat good and learn and everyone disagrees so much... mushrooms are bad for you and are a fungus that cancer grows on.. no muchrooms fight cancer... blah blah blah.. i think i will just have a nervous break down and not worry about it anymore.. ha! > So the simple question is... cant a person have even a bit??? Goodness knows i do so well in so many other areas.... ugh... > THere are probably some things you all eat that i would never touch.. who knows... > I guess i have asked this question before.. so consider it rhetorical if you want... im just about ready to scream is all... thanks for listening... lisa in idaho > > >
