We all are, but our channels get pretty plugged up.

At least, for most of us unenlightened humans.

I use the following homey metaphor to explain Reiki.

Think of your vacuum cleaner.

Sometimes the tube can't suck anymore because a plug

of dust is in the way. Often the best way to get it out

is to just blow sharply into it. POOF and it flies out.

Think of a Reiki initiation as the master blowing one's

energy ducts clear. The channels were there all the time,

but now they are clear.

Robert, I have no doubt that many people are natural Reiki

channels. But for the well-meaning scatterbrains among us

it is a true Gift. I have found Reiki a very forgiving energy.

Also: the experience of the treater and the treatee can be

widely divergent.

I have had sessions where I was in awe at the energy

flowing into the client, and the client couldn't feel a thing.

And there are times when I don't feel much happening,

but the client is having all sorts of cosmic experiences.

Whatever! Of course we all love it when we both feel the

flow, but I have learned to let any expectation go.

Ien,

I respect what you are saying. You make the same point I was trying

to convey. Our channels, energy channels, abilitity to acknowledge

what we are feeling, experiencing, etc do get blocked, and the

projections of a Reiki master add to the blockage.

I know that this is not a welcome thing to say to Reiki

practitioners. It was not welcome when it first appeared to me that

by going through with a Reiki attunement, I was, in just another way,

seeking something out there to make me feel more ________ (fill in

whatever it is we think we seek).

The reality is, if I am honest, is that since I was a child, I have

been aware of deep connection with universal energy. And, whether we

are aware of this or not, we are. If we were not, we would cease to

breathe. Our connection with universal energy is as palpable as our

next breath. It's that simple, and that profound.

Only if the Reiki master is absolutely clear in him/herself. My

experience is that this is simply not the case, and that is no

judgment against so called " masters " , but to say that they are also

each on their own journey. If their journey were finished, they

would be, too. At best, cannot " masters " only be fingers pointing?

Wouldn't the finger point to the connection we already have, and an

invitation to begin acknowledging that?

Forgiveness implies a judgement. Whose judgment? About whom? Energy

just is. It makes no judgmment, therefore, nothing to give. But,

when we " give a Reiki session " , how often do we lay our hands on the

other free of judgments? Do we bring any " need " to a session?

Wants? Hopes? Desires? Fears? All of these are energy caught up

in a mask, and we will consciously or unconsciouly pass the mask

(projection) on with the treatment. Now, what have we treated the

unsuspecting client to?

In which case, what was the awe triggering for you? What were you

reacting to? And, weren't your reactions and whatever they reflected

back to you also pouring right into the client?

If you are totally clear, that's great. This is a lesson we can take

for ourselves. Every time we have a reaction to someone or

something, that is energy moving, or trying to move through us. If

we can approach it with no expectation, and only acknowledg--oh,

that's energy moving in me, then the blockages you spoke of will self-

clear much more quickly.

I called Reiki "a very forgiving energy".

Robert, I meant that Reiki seems to nicely

bypass the ever chattering mind of its channel,

in this case, me.

I have not experienced the passing on of negative

energies you mention, just this loving, intelligent

Force that seems to just use my imperfect presence

and go where it needs to go.

Do we bring anything to a session? Hey, we're human beings.

Most of us, including healers, are far from enlightenment.

That's why it is a good idea to pick a healer you

feel comfortable with, vibration-wise.

So if something is passed along it is harmonious with

your own vibrations. I am thinking of my two Reiki

masters, and really, if a little chunk of their energy

remains in my aura, I am fine with that.

Reiki seems to bypass the monkey mind and

override the vibrations of the channel.

We all have different experiences and are

at different levels. Like I said, if you are

directly plugged in to Source, go for it!

Some of us can use a little booster, like Reiki.

I hope nobody gets scared off Reiki by this

exchange.

Namaste
