Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have been pretty miserable out here in the San Francisco bay area since allergy season hit. I seem to be reacting to everything that's blooming right now. Do any of you happen to have a suggestion on a natural antihistamine and decongestant? I'm taking Claritin D but I always prefer a natural or homeopathic alternative. Thanks so much! Allee Love cheap thrills? Guest guest
I use tea tree oil for many things including my allergies. I rub it all over my face paying special attention to the sinus areas. It really loosens things up for me. Lavender essential oil is known to be a natural antihistamine. I do the same with it regularly. The lavender also does wonders for my complexion and mood. The rain was awful, but at least it washed some of it away. I take the Nettles too (Stinging Nettle) and swear by it. Awesome. It takes a while to work though. What or how does the cal/mag help with allergies? I take the cal/mag now for help in sleeping. Dawn
Guest guest
Hi Dawn! The rain did help to wash some of the pollen away . Recently I read that SOME people who suffer from allergies have nutritional deficienceis and taking a cal/mag mixture amy be able to benefit them. I tried it and found that it made a huge difference in how I feel! so I guess I am one of those people who has a nutrition dificiency and could benefit from it. I have at times take ecchinacia (sp?) but only for short periods of time, and have had success with that as well. My sister swears by a spoonful of local honey twice a day. For many people it all starts with leaky gut and faulty digestion. Weak adrenal functioning can also be a factor. How is your digestion? Have you ever tried strengthening the lining of your gut? Please keep in mind that the people on this forum are not doctors (at least most them are not) and cannot give medical advice. We are trying to get away from the " take this pill " approach. " Envirozon " from the Rainforest pantry works well for an allergic friend of mine, but in the long run you want to address root causes. Guest guest
hi ms. newport, i'm new to this group and am an allergy sufferer but it's year-round and SEVERE. i live in central texas, so lots of allergens in the air. i just had sinusitus surgery because i had so much buildup in my sinuses from all the infections over about 13 yrs. my husband is really scared that i've been taking Rx allergy meds for so long, and i would love to get off of them, but everything i've tried (vitamins, herbs) hasn't worked. any suggestions? i read the ingredients in the ALJ and many of those things i've taken with no success. thx so much, sommer , mnewport wrote: > > An excellent herbal combination I recommend to my clients for allergies > is ALJ. > > To read more about it just go here: > http://www.mynsp.com/heavenlyherbs/products/guide.aspx?stockNum=774 > > Blessings, > > Michelle Newport, CH > Nature For Life > " Better Health Through Better Living " > http://www.natureforlife.com > > > > ------- > > Northern California allergy season - > > help?! > > Allee Martell <journeygirl621 > > Wed, May 17, 2006 10:08 am > > > > > > Hi everyone, > > > > I have been pretty miserable out here in the San Francisco bay area > > since allergy season hit.
