Guest guest
Ellen, I have been wondering the same thing about myself. I understand and empathize with your stress bowl comment. I lost my 8 year old niece and my brother within the past year and a half. I asked the same sort of question on another list about my adrenal glands and nutmeg essential oil was suggested to me. They said it rub it on your stomach and over your upper kidney area. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to. Sherry L. I have been unsuccessfully trying to loose weight- I have been on almost every diet known to man and still I barely loose a pound let alone the 20 that I need to loose. I take two yoga classes each week- try to be pretty active- I work with children so I am usually on the go- I need to do some walking- but just haven't found the extra time- or the energy. I also do an aerobics class once a week with 1.2 hour excercise and the other 1/2 aerobics. Still nothing moves. I have two children, both girls, one is 18 and going away to college, (stress) and another who just turned 15 and is just giving me alittle bit of a hard time because of alot of stressful events that have happened since January. ie, teenage pregnancy from a beloved cousin, four close family friends dying suddenly, one being a suicide, we have been living in a stress bowl since january. Someone told me that I might have adrenal failure. When I looked on a website- I seemed to have alot of symptoms- What can be done about this? Does anyone think that accupunture can help- I have been to one for Raynaud's. I take a multi vitamin and a colon cleanse - Can someone help me?? _____
Guest guest
Hi Ellen, Symptoms of adrenal fatigue include: restless sleep, dark circles under the eyes, quivering tongue, pulsing pupils and difficulty concentrating. Two products I recommend for my clients to normalize adrenal function are AdaptaMax or Nervous Fatigue Formula. Nervous Fatigue Formula also rebuilds the adrenals. You should also eliminate caffeine and refined sugar from your diet. Is there any other special diet for this? Thank you, Vicki
Guest guest
This is excellent advice! Nutmeg is very supportive to the adrenal glands because it has adrenal-like activity that raises energy levels - additionally sage, clove, rosemary and basil. The hormones secreted by the adrenals directly affect blood pressure, mineral content, and help regulate the conversion of carbohydrates into energy. Here is a recipe for a warm compress to put right over the adrenals: 3 drops clove 3 drops nutmeg 7 drops rosemary add to 1/4 teaspoon of a quality carrier oil (grapeseed, extra virgin olive oil, vit. E, etc). Please remember that the oils MUST be therapeutic-grade only. Elisabeth " Sherry L. Stoll " <slstoll wrote: Ellen, I have been wondering the same thing about myself. Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I would recommend completely eliminating caffeine from the diet - or as much as possible. For those that really need the caffeine - I would cut back slowly over time until it's been eliminated from the diet. As far as a special diet, I would cut out processed foods and eat more organic, whole foods along with plenty of pure water. This is the diet I recommend to all my clients. Guest guest
Thank you for writing me- I have one cup of caffeine during the day- and very little soda- I never drink regular and I have been staying away from diet soda ( I am convinced there is a chemical in this that makes you gain weight)- I am incorporating alot more fresh vegetables and some fruits ( only because they are higher in sugar) into my diet and I have been staying away from sugar and starches ( some not all) and I haven't been successful. When I looked on the website for this I do seem to have alot of the symptoms, not all were about loosing weight- do you have any other suggestions? Guest guest
Hi Ellen, This is interesting. I remember last summer there actually was a report on the news that a study had been done of women's diet habits, and that they had found that women who drank diet pop gained more weight than those who didn't. And, that the more diet pop they drank, the more weight gain they had. They said they are theorizing that the effort to trick the body just doesn't work - that either the sweetness of the pop triggered more hunger, or the body overcompensated in some other way. They can't really say for sure that the pop caused the weight gain - it was a correlation. Some I wondered also if women who drank more diet pop tended to also eat more processed " diet " foods that often advertise as being " low fat " but often have more sugar and empty calories than non-diet versions. It was interesting for sure.
