Guest guest
Hello group, I write to you with a saddened & frustrated face. The past 4-5 days I have been breaking out. I havent had break outs in YEARS & haven't had acne since I was a teen. I get a occasional blemish which is normally due to me falling asleep without washing my face first or falling asleep with make up on. Nothing intentional, just something that happens. Anywho I'm trying to think of something I have done differently to make myself break out. The only thing I can think of that has happened recently in the past month is I'm on a prescription med (allegra 24 hour) & I moved in with my bf who uses chemicals for everything. I am slowly replacing things as I can but at the same time I'm also using things that I haven't used in at least a year like cheap store bough laundry soap, regular soap (Dial) etc I'm so upset bc I always had clear skin & now I have blemishes on my forehead, cheeks & on my chin. I realize I have to stop using the chemicals which that is in the works. What can I do that is more natural to help clear up the acne ? I dont want to use the stuff from the store that will just dry my skin out & then I will be struggling for weeks to get the dry skin back to being soft & supple !! I'm so desperate right now & I don't want to cake make up on my face to " cover up " . Also what is really good for hydrating facial skin ? It seems like no matter what moisturizer I use the skin btwn my eyebrows & forehead is still a little flaky & if I try to put make up on, it looks more flaky !!! Help!! I don't know how old you are but I'm in my early 40's and never ever had acne and now have small traces of it. They say it's old age, hormones and the like. But whatever the case I didn't want them. I did invest in buying some of those more expensive facial cleansers, and they work. I use Bliss brand. www.blissworld.com or you can buy it at a Sephora store (don't know what state you're in). Their products work wonders for me (I use the cleansing milks and steep cleans lines) in terms of clearing up the face and not drying it out. There is also a moisturizer by Kinerase that is just awesome at moisturizing the face and never ever leaves your face sticky, oily, or the like. I fell in love with it. www.Kinerase.com (I also use their facial cleanser as well). All these brand names have products that are very safe for you skin. I have sensitive skin too. I really encourage you to give them a try or at least read their history and ingredients. Good luck! Dawn - cape cod, ma
Guest guest
Hi Dawn. These are just some thoughts tht might help you. Rem everyone is of a delicate balance and not one thing works for just one person. So be patient. First yes try to replace those nasty chemicals as much as poss. Spray into th air yr own mix of essential oils or a light mix of fresh herbs.Sage, mint ect,Lavender. Nxt you might try a light 3 day fast of apples and practice yoga asanas Nxt stop if you do-hot showers and scrubbing and use clean cool water only washes with soft washcloth over yr skin 3 times a day and mist after or in between with silver or rescue remedy. For individual blemishes and at home-dab with clay mask, just a dot,let dry and rub this off and reaply up to 4 times if desperate Now thr are 2 grt product lines you can get at th local healthfd store tht wld be worth yr time and money and thy are organic skincarelines. No 1 is Dr Haushka No 2 is Devita Hope this helps and good luck with yr boyfriend!
Guest guest
I agree the more you limit your exposure to toxins the better off you'll be. Skin problems are a sign of over toxicity in the body. Cleansing the colon is very beneficial in opening up the main channel of elimination so your skin won't be taking on that burden of elimination. Also using a blood purifying herb such as burdock can be effective. For the dry skin as well as the acne I would take an essential fatty acid supplement daily. Also considering there is irritation affecting glands which secrete oil, the toxins involved are fat-soluble and may be the result of a breakdown of fats in the body. Avoiding hydrogenated oils and replacing them with healthier fats such as flax seed or olive oils is beneficial. Guest guest
There's an incredible web site called Acne.org that talks about one person's discovery into a regimen that worked far more effectively for him than anything from a dermatologist. The person developed the " Clear Skin Regimen " , a system that uses only benzoyl peroxide and a skin moisturizer. There is also a forum where people discuss other alternative solutions, e.g. steaming your face for 10-30 minutes which accelerates your acne and sebum to rise to the skin surface and release (the process leaves your skin pretty dry, so you must use some moisturizer afterwards). The web site: <http://www.acne.org/> The forum: <http://www.acne.org/messageboard/> Good luck, Dawn. :-) -- Eugene " A language is a dialect with an army and a navy. Guest guest
In addition to the excellent advice preceding I use an aloe based massage lotion which is a private label sold in Plano, Tx. in my massage oil collection which I add 1tbs. tea tree, 1 tbs. lavander to. This accomodates my clients who have acne prone condiotns. They always get some for their personal use as it seems to help them. I could let those who are interested where to get the unscented, uncolored aloe based lotion, although I am sure you can find some in the area where you live in. The showers and mists are excellent and can be very invigoating to the spirit! Guest guest
AMENDED VERSION My first post did not contain the ratio of oils to lotion...sorry In addition to the excellent advice preceding I use an aloe based massage lotion which is a private label sold in Plano, Tx. in my massage oil collection which I add 1tbs. tea tree, 1 tbs. lavander to 16 oz.of lotion. This accomodates my clients who have acne prone conditions.
